If that is the case, why were Pakistan not going for the kill vs NZ? They also went at snail's pace vs Afghanistan part timers. Fair enough they lost wickets.

Wasn't the easiest track to bat on vs NZ and Babar wanted his century so it went to the last over...

Against Afghan we were clueless vs their spinners and only won the game because their captain thought he'd play hero and bowl himself when his part-timer was bowling perfectly fine.

The costly game was to the Windies, we got absolutely hammered and they look such a poor side. Yes, our game was SL was rained off but who's to say we would have beaten them, they're capable of decent performances as proven vs England and Windies.

1. Pakistan got hammered by WI, a team that has been regularly smashed in recent times

2. Pak dropped a billion catches vs Australia, really simple ones

3. Pakistan put in such a meek performance vs their big rivals, I'm sure Namibia would've performed better

4. They didn't kill off the games they were dominating

Pakistan deserve everything they get (Please don't hate me)

Correct, that's why we are relying on other teams to help us.

I think in another era, maybe another team would help, but in this safety first era that we have now, people will just protect what they have.

It's alright, I didn't expect a favour from India and NZ have been faltering of late. Toss was important, England seem to be a dangerous side when they bat 1st, proving to be the case again. Not having Lockie is another big miss as he's important in these middle overs and for me has been their best bowler.

One of our heaviest defeats against windies is the sole reason for current Pakistan predicament. Historically, we have been bowled out for low scores against them, were dismissed for 70 odd twice in 92 , 43 in 93 and this one.

If Eng score 350 & win;

-Win by 100 runs then Pak need to beat Bang by around 340 runs to qualify
-Win by 150 runs then Pak need to beat Bang by around 290 runs

Basically approximately a 440 run swing is required

Pakistan bowled out WI for 53 once in the 80s

I think it's very easy to blame the WI defeat, your team has not played with brains the whole tournament. Very dangerous side, but also deserve to go out.

We should aim not to lose a wicket for the whole innings. Has that been done before?

Just checked and it looks to be Sri Lanka losing 1 wicket (in 2013 vs India) as the closest anyone has come in an ODI.
