So it's being reported that he changed his mind after speaking to Ange.
So he was put off us having spoken directly to Daniel Levy and he's since spoken to Ange and had a change of heart.
Everything about that makes total sense. They should have spoken when a permanent deal was on the table. It does sound to me like he's going for us, not because of some amazing Ange speech, but all his options have now dwindled and he's got no choice. That's why there's no option. I'm not all that sure about signing players that aren't committed. I guess beggars can't be choosers.

So all he reports are Ange has had a word.....but you dismiss that to push your own negative narrative.
For me I think we went for an obligation to buy 1. we want him, and, 2. we could steal a march on others who cannot commit financially, those in a sell to buy position like Utd CFC Villa, may be even Arsenal.
Now if the lad didnt want to commit to staying forever, fair enough. If that's the case then we no point trying to force him. But i think we have nothing to lose by offering an option to buy and TBH getting a player in, having them settle, may be even get a run of results and possible cup success will may be help convince him this is a good place to be.
Sounds like Ange has been a telling factor, like it was with Bergvall choosing us over Bayern/Barca and other deals.
I'd rather Tel committed for ever as that is the bigger statement from him but if teh cause has been sold to him and he's changed his mind, then that's pretty positive....unless he gets diverted to Chelsea's training ground en route to ours

Calm down Cornwall.
Let’s be honest, whatever I say you are just going to shout down anyway - this behaviour cannot be good for your wellbeing though
Julien Laurens (European football expert, according to the beeb)
"Ange Postecoglou spoke with Mathys Tel at length earlier today and convinced him to come to Tottenham," said Laurens.
"Huge role played by the Spurs manager to get one of the most coveted youngsters in Europe."

Yeah, that's about the size of it. How else do you explain the loan deal with no option. That deal had to come from the player because we'd already agreed a fee for his permanent move with Bayern. They've clearly not got an interest in developing him. This is his choice to keep his options open. It's a smart move on his part but it's worryingly short-term. If he has a great season, he'll either go back to Bayern or bigger clubs will circle. Difficult one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Classic spin from you.
Nothing to do with Ange
Nothing to do with Levy
Just a desperate player who could sit on the bench and earn a title medal and progress in the UCL but who begrudgingly will come to Spurs to sit on our bench.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it fits Cornwall - a player who has rejected a permanent move to us already but is happy to come and play for 6 months with no obligation.
We’re developing Bayerns player for them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So all he reports are Ange has had a word.....but you dismiss that to push your own negative narrative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Calm down Cornwall.

Mate, Im the happy positive one. Delighted that we seem to be getting a key target in, happy that our manager seems able to really sell the dream to players. There is literally nothing bad to say if this deal goes through
You're the one on constant suicide watch, damming every move with heavy criticism

clear the guy wants to play as a striker and we have promised him that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes this does appear to be the main reason he has joined Spurs, been promised, so we will see how it pans out

According to you? I’m happy about Tel, I’m merely pointing out it’s a loan without an obligation - that’s fact, not negativity

NEW: #thfc are ready to make a move for Mathys Tel, along with other clubs.
Spurs have a good relationship with Bayern. | @Matt_Law_DT
Had a feeling we would go back in for him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s more chance of Levy’s hair growing back than there is Tel signing for us this window
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Look forward to seeing Levy’s flowing mane
Weird how this one went full circle - it’s a dry loam though isn’t it, so nothing to jiiizz over

Still funny you getting mugged off again 🤣
