If its the club that can decide to extend the players deal by a year then its hard to see you paying double figures for him. if they extend his deal then contractually he is on a longer deal than when you initially bid for him at crimbo. They wanted 12m back then and his stock has risen since
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only if he agrees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what on the contract extension? If the clause is an optional extension of the contract by the club which is normally the case in those clauses then the payer has no say.

If its on the player agreeing to join celtic you mean then yeah, are there any other known interested clubs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Optional surely means agreement from both sides no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, my mate is an agent its optional in the sense that the club have the "option" to extend it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the usual clause for player to extend the contract without the clubs say so normally comes from playing in a certain amount of games. So if the player plays in say 20 games that season he has the option to extend his deal that the club cannot reject. This normally takes place with older players or injury prone players who initially sign a shorter contract

well I say "mate" i used to work with him til about a year ago. he is as snakey as you expect an agent to be, it was the perfect job for him i suppose. I dont how he is getting on but he had a few Killie boys on his books and is half italian so will prob be chuffed with whats going on there now. He left the job to do it full time. Always posting daft pics from different airports usually of something daft like a coffee he has just bought.

I wouldnt have left a penny unsupervised around him.

I would be happy with a decent RB on loan with option to buy - along with a backup.

How do you feel JFK?

i feel like we won't spend that on a rb having already spent 10 million.

tbh i expect that if our spending goes up to 15 million we will see more than jus tierney leave.

See where your coming from. Like i said the other day though we have the VD money, Dembele Money Armstrong and Rodgers cash.
A whack of the wage bill with the leavers. Also £130k a week saved on top of that on the coaching and backroom staff

Maybe we are going all out to ensure we are ahead of the pack! Or we are backing the new management team in the first window and be back lowballing the next

Should give the lad a nice fat wage uplift wi a £40M release clause.

Basically sell Ntcham and Siinclair, and sink the lot, fee plus released wages, into extending KT

We'd get about £5,450,000 for the two of them - with about £50,000 of that being for Sinclair, plus free up about £40k per week.

up KTs wages by £40k per week and give him £5m up front to sign on.

Job done.

this fitba manager malarkey is a fvckkin piece o pi$$, really

----------------------------------------------------------------------
aye thats the way to keep players happy.... the next best player on half of KT wages. It just doesnt work like that any player that you bring in as a certain starter would be looking for that 50-60k wage that he is on.

Mental that Lennon and his backroom staff are on £130k a week less than Rodgers.

Flook yer disco lights this season the money is getting pumped back into the team

going forward would you prefer to see that money spent on player wages or a high quality proven manager?

posted on 4/7/19

Bit of both please. However having Lennon is meaning we are freshening up the team then i can run with that. For now

yeah , the flip side of that is that if you go down the manager route you only need to get rid of him to bring that wage down as oppose to a few different players?

tricky one that.

rodgers got us to the champs league twice and had it not been for a boyata huffy and injuries i reckon we would have got there again.

he also won 7 out of 7 domestic trophies and had us well on the way to 9 out of 9.

that said, the football for the past 2 seasons has been horrible to watch, i dont like how he left but i think it was time for a change.
