I’d still rather keep Maguire than sell him. I’ll miss his ability to carry the ball forward and take the attack to the opposition. His ability to do that was really important for us last season when we struggled for creativity.
What I’ll miss less is his static defending and his lapses of concentration when an attacker runs in behind. He needs to improve his defensive discipline to be a really great player. It’s true that, purely as a defender, Evans was better for us than Maguire last season. So £80m is a phenomenal amount of money for a CB who isn’t the finished article but, personally, I’d still be sad to see him go.

Woodward. He’s regarded as the sluutttty easy lay of football negotiations.
Always rated Evans myself. Not world class by any means but much better than any of United's defenders. Too old for them to bring him back now so it's the better choice that they go for the younger one out of the two. £80m is ridiculous though. People laughed at £75m for VVD who has went on to be in contention for the Balon D'or.

We sell on our terms. We have no intention of selling another 4 or 5 players. We have just signed Tielemans so I think our ambition is pretty clear. If someone is prepared to pay silly money for an over rated defender on the other hand then we’ll take the money

I’m not pleased. I want Maguire to stay.
I think for a mid-sized club like ours then all you can do is try and get best possible price if a player wants to move to one of the elite clubs. I think we’ve got that if we get £80m.
From a Leicester point of view we have decent depth in the squad in defence and losing a CB is less worrying than somewhere we’d have to go out and replace Maguire. Even though it seems we might be after Dunk.
From a MU point of view then, to be honest, I think the price is irrelevant. I think they can easily sustain £80m and Maguire is still an asset. They might find better value elsewhere, but you’re still spending multi-millions. I’m not convinced, however, that Maguire will be everything they want if it’s a really solid defender that’s needed. He is, however, a player of great ability so could improve.
I thought with a few players that we’ve lost it’s kind of a pointless loss all round: it will affect us and not improve the buying club. Mahrez and Drinkwater were like that and Maguire has the potential to be another potential player we lose who’ll ultimately end up on a big club’s bench. Kante was the one where we really had the bum end of the deal - but the release clause was a big reason in that.
