It would be a joke but our entire 24 months of transfers has so I don't care as much anymore if he went United. It's obviously causing further problems in our ability to bring in other players so as long as he leaves and we get a much better amount than him going abroad, whatever.

Step down, so got to be wages driven, pure and simple. Goes some way to illustrating why he has been so poor for ages.

Really don't care as long as money spent on good replacement (s) if so will be quickly forgotten.

( yeah I really don't like the guy. Attitude towards our club has been terrible, whilst trying to force a move, simply to earn more money, not win anything )

Why is United a step down? They've won more than us during Pochettino's tenure and have all the money to reinvest and bridge any gaps in the league sooner than we can repay our stadium debt.

Eriksen thing needed to be done early but because of his contract it was never going to happen like that. It's not like he's absolute world beater, there might be a sense that he performs very well in a Spurs team but is he suited for the elite clubs like Real....his UCL final performance probably added more doubts.

FOr United, at least he's a proven EPL performer so little risk and even at £60m, very good value and miles better than Fred who cost something similar.

This story has nothing to it. It's papers and websites making stories for clicks. If Eriksen moves to United for £60m I'll change my user name to Levy is King.

A step up to a bigger club.

Couldnt care less as long as we get a proven PL replacement plus 1 extra

It might seem like a step down for Tottenham fans as they currently have CL, but they were very close to missing out last year despite being 3rd for most of the season.

Right now, United do have money to invest and bridge the gap. Looking to finish in the top four and get back into the CL. Signings have been looking to improve the here and now and for the future. Plenty of young talent in the side.

Tottenham have sold their RB and have to rely on two/three players who may not be up to par or injury prone. Both CBs are 30+ and have a year left on their contract. DMs in Dier and Wanyama getting injured and not up to par. And yet despite all the great work the head coach has done, he hasn't won anything and shackled by the chairman when it comes to spending. Tottenham could lose their first choice CBs and Eriksen for nothing. That would put any team a few steps back. This was the summer for Tottenham to go big. It could end up being a missed opportunity.

If he goes like most Spurs supporters I don't want it to be to a Prem rival. However I would rather have 60 mil of Utds money than have to tolerate another underwhelming season followed by him leaving for nothing.

I'm really surprised someone hasn't stepped up for him. Has a good record domestically and internationally, CL experience and at 27 is probably at his peak.

But I was also surprised nobody tried to take Alderweireld for 25m.

I think it's completely fabricated.

I want to go to Madrid , have a nice weekend in Oldham facker.

I fail to see why his rated so much if im honest ; if he wants to go fack him , if he stays pull up your socks and get on playing.

It's obviously a frustrating situation but we should avoid getting onto Eriksen for it entirely. He stated at the start of the season he wants to leave and for business to be concluded early. It might have been better to keep his mouth shut and force the issue privately if he hasn't done so already but he has the right to want a change of scenery.

And yet the only area where United are stronger than us is in goal and even then DDG started making uncharacteristic mistakes last season - start of decline?

Our defence as it stands is still better than Uniteds. Now Ndombele has been added we are marginally stronger in midfield. Our attack is far stronger, even though last year was a very poor year with our injuries we still out scored United.

Our manager is better and even our ground is better. If Eriksen goes from wanting to play for Real Madrid to playing for United then it is 100% to do with money and not success.

Would be very surprised and disappointed in him. He's 27, the position United are in with an average squad and inexperienced manager it would take at least 3 years for them to start challenging for the league/champions league.

If Madrid/Barca/Juve don't want him I would expect he just sits out the last year and signs a pre contract in Jan as I am sure they would have him on a free.

How? Assuming they land Eriksen they would have bought in a single season:

Eriksen
Maguire
AWB
James

They have the money to compete for the title in a season or two if they invest right. We have to go through a whole process of player improvement and subtle additions.

Not much between the sides last season, given that Spurs have better players.

11 points from the final 12 games was even worse than United.

And the state Madrid are in at the moment is every bit as bad as United

Really? I think he looked a little demotivated last season but a fired up Eriksen will get you 20 goals/assists a season. That's pretty valuable productivity.

I'll leave my team out of this because I'm clearly bias but to challenge for the title in a season or two they'll need to get close to City's performance and consistency. Can't see it personally, not in that time-frame.

It's all ifs and buts. In 2 years many things could happen. Liverpool went from 4th to second. United went from 2nd to 6th. Only team consistent has been City over the past two years.

I would say it would look like we'd be better positioned of the 4 teams fighting for 3rd to 6th to finish 3rd of we were to sign Eriksen. We're better positioned to win silverware before Tottenham due to Poch not taking anything but the PL and CL seriously.

Not sure how that works?

You've a young unproven Manager who could easily be sacked shortly if you have a bad start bearing in mind your demise towards the end of last season.

Your main striker Lukaku is likely to leave (and if he stays will be unmotivated). Your star midfielder Pogba ditto. Rashford has shown few signs of ever being a 20-25 goal a season man despite all the hype that he gets and Maguire is but one man and can't shore up your whole defence.

You are nowhere near Spurs and if Arsenal are better in midfield and in attack and should also be stronger than you
