Tricky team selection for Nuno this one. No question there were players in our starting 11 on Saturday who need a rest. Also no question that Torino are good enough to beat us if we play a weak team.
Doherty to me isn't over the knee injury he suffered pre season, has been hobbling by the time he came off in the last two home games. And Moutinho and Jota the two that would most benefit from a break.
Maybe a starting 11 of;
Patricio
Valllejo, Coady, Boly
Traore, Dendoncker, Saiss, Neves, Jonny
Jiminez, Neto
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think starting both Saiss and Neves works in a midfield three in the current system. Neither of them really play the box to box midfielder role that well, which is required for the left and right centre midfielders. They work well in a two when they can both sit deeper, but unless we play a central attacking midfielder like MGW or Moutinho who can play higher up the pitch and allow them to both sit deeper; I can’t really see it working.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do agree with that tam which is why I have been saying our squad is one central midfield player short. Maybe MGW or Jordao will fill that gap but until then our set up isn’t ideal unless the first choice three are all playing
Bodvarsson scored twice to put Millwall ahead but they were pegged back level in the 94th minute with a penalty for Oxford converted by James Henry
Costa equalised for Leeds in what i think might have been his first start
Wolves come into the Carabao Cup in the 3rd round, ie the next round. Those matches will take place in week commencing 23rd September.
3rd round draw takes place after tomorrow night’s televised game between Lincoln and Everton
Haha, just seen the scorers in the Leeds v Stoke match. Bod, Stears and Henry getting goals too. There's life in them old dogs yet.
On a less pleasant note, the EFL have confirmed Bury's expulsion and league one will be reduced to 21 teams. Bolton have another 14 days to find an owner despite their administrators saying they're planning to start winding them up tomorrow. All this on a day when British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe has spent 90 million quid buying French club Nice.
Bloody mess.
League One has now been reduced to 23 teams and currently only 3 will get relegated this season.
Interview with Bury's owner. Unbelievable...

That is incredible bute. You are just left with the question why. But if he is allowed to buy the club for £1 and seemingly have no obligation to clear their debts then I suppose why not. He has ended the club but the football authorities have to shoulder the blame also for not having any safeguards in place to protect the club for the fans. Wolves were ultimately saved by the council stepping in to buy the land and preserving Molineux as a sports venue. I am sure the councils of Bury, Bolton and Coventry could have done more also to keep their clubs operational
It’s an absolute joke that someone who has never heard of Bury FC and can talk about them in that way can pass a fit and proper person’s test from the EFL.

Councils don’t have enough money to secure their own operations these days; let alone that of a football club.
The two big head Manchester clubs should step in with some financial assistance. Football won't be same without a lower league structure.
Even when in the depths of the lower leagues, fans of clubs like Bolton, Coventry and West Brom can dream of mixing it with the elite again one day. Granted it's just a dream, but that's what football is built on.
I was appalled at the arrogance of the man. Didn't realise Bury had a football club, and has no reason to ever travel there again. Fit and proper? Pah!
The comments from the guys who were looking to buy the club were interesting and probably at the heart of the problem. The structure of the club's finances and the number of leases on the stadium were too complex to unravel. If there's anything to be taken away as leaning from this sorry state of affairs then it must be that the football authorities in this country standardise for transparency the structure of clubs as a mandatory condition of membership.
I don't doubt that this would deter some investors but hopefully not genuine ones that could work within this framework.
I recall reading an article a few years ago which went in to some depth on how Jonathan Hayward had conjured up a complicated structure of leases and covenants on molineux and that it was this that led to Sir Jack getting rid of him as CEO. Having gone through two subsequent changes of ownership one assumes that there's nothing too onerous in the structure of our finances today.
Don’t agree that councils can’t help Tam. They are encouraged to apply for capital to invest in programmes that benefit the community, secure employment etc. And through planning they can ensure that land cannot be used for anything other than a sports venue. They can’t take on the debts of course but they can create the environment to make it something worth taking on by an investor
I remember when Wolves were going through this. My company was doing a lot of promotion and publicity work for the council at the time. The council's district plan was aiming to keep major stores within the Ring Road. They had to quietly relax this to allow Asda to build at Molineux.
Bury do still actually exist though don't they, but they have just been kicked out of the league?
Saunders jailed for 10 weeks for refusing a roadside breath test. Had to prop himself up on his car although only admitted to having had 2 pints.

Saunders really is an idiot. Remember him getting a job as a pundit for a tournament abroad which involved him being away from home for a few weeks. He then forgot he had parked his car in a short stay car park at the airport and had a bill for a couple of thousand on his return
Amazing thing is that he get work as a pundit, presumably as an ‘expert’
The father of three looked crestfallen when he realised he was going to jail.
"Throughout these proceedings you have shown yourself to be arrogant, thinking you are someone whose previous and current role in the public eye entitles you to be above the law," District Judge Sanders said.
Still as deluded and unable to recognise reality as ever then.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
At this moment they exist but the company will be wound up very soon and go into administration. At that point they will cease to exist.
However, almost certainly some group will form a new club - probably called Bury - which will apply to join one of the lower leagues. Even if that all goes well they would be likely to be out of the Football League for at least 5 years.
Again the timing of all this by the EFL is wrong. Had they sorted it out in time for them to join another league, they could've started again with lower overheads and the same supporter base. That's whats allowed clubs like Newport, Wimbledon, Hereford, Aldershot (to a lesser degree) to leap frog older non-league clubs and climb back from county leagues back up to the pro ranks. But Bury now have to wait a whole season to re-enter and start the process.
I see that Steve Dale is trying now to get support for Bury to be reinstated in to the league claiming he has two buyers waiting. (Presumably conditional on their league membership). I doubt he even understood before yesterday what expulsion from the league actually meant.
