I remember Bury always used to be the smallest club represented in the old Central League for reserve teams. They used to bring on young players and sell them on to bigger clubs. Nowadays the big clubs develop their own players through academies and there’s not much money to be made by small clubs in the transfer market

When Saunders started out as a pundit, I heard him on the radio recommending that a team set up 4-4-3 in one particular match!

Read my earlier comment about TV pundits.
This absolutely backs up my opinion.

Literally just walked in the door and whilst out was photographing a few of these, or our version at least. No idea of their range in the UK, so are they becoming more common? Awesome critters to watch though.

We have them here on the island, I've been reading lately. Haven't seen one myself - yet.

Just took a look and they migrate into the UK each year in varying numbers and have been recorded as far north as the Orkneys and Shetlands. They rarely survive the winter.

Don’t agree that councils can’t help Tam. They are encouraged to apply for capital to invest in programmes that benefit the community, secure employment etc. And through planning they can ensure that land cannot be used for anything other than a sports venue. They can’t take on the debts of course but they can create the environment to make it something worth taking on by an investor
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bury council have tried to help though, but like you said they can’t take on their debts or make them financially viable. Those reasons are why the club went under. The council shouldn’t really be blamed for this or even be implicated in that way; the fault is with the owners and the EFL.

Shouldn't we be buying Bury with our short change and using it as yet another feeder club?

There's a graphic on the Wolves site:

https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20190828-wolves-vs-torino-5-things-to-know/

looking at Traore's contribution to the first leg. It states that he made 10 passes with a 71.4% accuracy. Work that one out

posted on 28/8/19

Some of Traore’s passes were half decent. Some were 80% reasonable and there was one that was 23% hopeless

Dave Edwards no longer there, so that should make things easier.

Where IS Dave Edwards anyway, he went missing somewhere between us and Reading didn't he?

Torino will be without two of their first choice defenders tonight. One has a hamstring injury and the other has stayed in Italy pending a transfer to Roma

Remember when we were a "selling club"?

Keane, Lescott.....

Those were sad days when not getting promoted meant not being able to hold on to our best players

Hopefully the club will keep progressing so we don’t lose our currrent stars and manager

That is incredible bute. You are just left with the question why. But if he is allowed to buy the club for £1 and seemingly have no obligation to clear their debts then I suppose why not. He has ended the club but the football authorities have to shoulder the blame also for not having any safeguards in place to protect the club for the fans. Wolves were ultimately saved by the council stepping in to buy the land and preserving Molineux as a sports venue. I am sure the councils of Bury, Bolton and Coventry could have done more also to keep their clubs operational
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Councils don’t have enough money to secure their own operations these days; let alone that of a football club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A council official was on Northwest Tonight (our version of Central News or Midlands Today) & stated that nobody would get planning permission to use the land for anything other than Sport - no houses allowed, at least they are trying to help
