Well, blown that. A nothing performance really played right into their hands and they beat us at our own game in the end.

Not sure where the change in attitude comes from right now, we simply don't have that spark to change things in midfield when we need something.

Nah, still plenty of time for both

Basically we have one game changing option in Traore if plan A isn't working

Our pee poor transfer window is being shown up now

Donk, Bennett and Doc our poorest tonight, Braga had a lot of pace on that side incidentally, wonder if that had an impact on that side?

Donk has been poor all season. I think it’s time we dropped him and went back to 3-4-3 to be honest.

Jota, Cutrone and Jimenez should all start next game IMO with Moutinho and Neves or Saiss in midfield. We can’t keep sitting deep and expecting results.

was surprised to see MGW and not Donk go off

posted on 19/9/19

Yeah I didn’t get that. MGW seemed the most likely to do something in the midfield and actually played quite well. Nuno seems to have a negative mindset at the moment though, so it was unlikely he would add another creative player whilst sacrificing the Belgian Dave Edwards.

Very disappointed with the performance and not at all convinced about Cutrone. Seems like a different team altogether from last season. Huge gaps between the defense and forwards and Bennett, apart from being at fault for their goal, played 95% of his passes backwards.

Best player for me was Jonny, but I wouldn't rate any of the others more than 5.

Jota has to start up front with Jimenez against Palace and a rethink on Bennett. Doherty too, seems out of source at the moment.

What disappointed me the most was the lack of movement from the midfield and forwards. Very static imo.

Nuno has a lot of work to do if we're going to improve.

Ha. I actually think he is a very good footballer and was suited to this system when we played with intensity. Now we are leaving to many gaps he is just a runner who is disciplined.

I’d like to see him played in Coady or Bennett’s position to be honest. I think he would be very good in the back three.

Oh definitely. Everyone jumped on the Wolves hype train way too early

Entertaining game and certainly one we didn’t deserve to lose. Braga making us pay for one bad mistake.

Defensively we looked much more solid with this regular back 5 and with Neves playing much better we looked more like ourselves for most of the game.

I like both Jiminez and Cutrone but to me they are not a partnership. They play level with each other and that hinders Jiminez. To me you play one of these two and one of Jota and Neto.

Surely on Sunday we will see a return to the starting 11 we had in the second half of last season. What I and others hoped for in the summer is that we would bring in 3 or 4 players better than we already had, but actually none of the new guys are better and that’s a handicap as we can’t play the same players twice a week every week.

Good to see the crowd sticking with the team and they got a great ovation at the end of the game for their efforts and it was a game they dominated. Feel much better after tonight than I did after Saturday’s game and hopefully improved results are just around the corner

Can't say it was abysmal but it sure as shat wasn't that positive either.

Agree regarding Cutrone and Jimenez though

Yeah last season they were an unknown entity, on a high and playing above their level. Now it's back to Earth with a bang and players playing at their actual level. Teams will also suss them out this season and stop them from counter attacking, as we all know too well that style isn't sustainable.

We do have quality players though, just not enough to fill a squad. Patricio, Boly, Jonny, Neves, Moutinho, Jota and Jimenez would not be out of place in the squads of the top sides

Caught on the counter after giving the ball away. Wonder how many times that's been said about our opponents over there last couple of years? Thought there was s lack of communication again for three goal, Rui should have told Boly that the guy was behind him as he got drawn to the ball.

Thought we played some good football but lacked the sharpness in the box to give us goals.

I find it interesting that nobody is interested in any of them, they purely seem hell bent on taking our players.
