I've got a package holiday booked for Tenerife in january and the flights are with Thomas Cook. No idea what happens now. Will need to just wait and hear if they offer alternative flights, if not refund hopefully in full.

Package holiday will be full refund. Flight only might be dodgy.

At worst you'll get your money back in full through abta. No idea how long that might take though.

It might well be true that there is a separate Thomas Cook commercial business

Sometimes people should just think for a minute before actually starting a thread, this is absolutely awful, I mean, honestly... so fvcking awful

That was my point. Perfectly possible. Have no idea either way but if rangers are saying it's a separate entity then it's a separate entity.

Do you think people who go on holiday with TUI would complain and hound advertising agencies if they did?

Thousands of families left stranded and others with holidays cancelled at the airport.

What happens to those in charge at Thomas Cook?
No bonus this year? New job? Balls loped off?

If they claimed to be the worlds most successful travel agent then probably.

I was booked to go to Orlando in 15 days with TC, had a mad scramble last night to get something similar booked, £800+ extra for much sh!teir accommodation

Thankfully I was following it closely, had it all ready to click PAY and was booked up about 90 seconds after they officially folded, just as well coz a hour or 2 later TUI didn't have a single 14 holiday left in October for Orlando.

The Thomas Cook business and brand could have gone on but unfortunately it hasn't. "Separate entity"? Well, I think I'll leave that one aside.

Hamish, pretty sure they will be fine and just rebook a flight. This is the game that Rangers asked for no tickets isn't it? So absolutely no worries for the fans as a few diehards who might go and try and get a home ticket or just go to be there aside, it wont be an issue.

They charter a plane basically for the whole first team party and about 50 corporates.

The youths who are playing YB next Thursday afternoon before the first team game are already travelling separately because they struggled to get a plane to accommodate everyone.

It might cause a real problem for the travel plans which have all been set already.
