We're not far away from promotion at all. We're closer than we've ever been but yeah, not quite close enough. As it stands, we are going up in second, but I can't see us staying there unless we recruit well in Jan and keep key players fit. There are NO excuses if we fail come May though
So far away you are in the automatic promotion spots in one of the most competitive leagues going...
Moaning for moaning sakes.
I think he is doing a very good job with a squad that is not second best in the league.
He can set a team up to create chances using his tactics and skills but he can't make them finish.
That is where we failed to improve in the pre-season. Now whether that is Bielsa or owners - I do not know.
One other point. That 6m a year is pittance when you consider the value of some of the players he has developed. I would hate to see anyone leave, but Phillips was a nothing player before he joined. He is now worth 20m plus.
That’s not just Bielsa but also the coaching team that comes and goes with him.
Spot on!
No closer than we were under;
Paul Heckinbotham
Steve Evans
Neil Warnock
Gary Monk
Dave Hockaday
Neil Redfearn
Uwe Rosler
Darko Milanic
We are in one of the toughest divisions in the world to get out of.
Bielsa has transformed the club on the playing side, we are in a great position compared to two years ago, I sometimes wonder what some fans expect no team wins every game and we are playing some great football so just enjoy the ride and remember what it was like before Bielsa.
I don’t buy it’s a tough league.
3 teams get promoted every year, like in most leagues.
And 99% of the times, the best teams get promoted.
Reason we haven’t been promoted for years, is we haven’t bought enough good players.
lmao what a load of balls this article is
amount of wummers on this site why ive struggled to post.
If your going to have a moan at least start with accurate information.
back away from the keyboard lowfields.
Worth every penny in my opinion - what he has brought to this club and how he has brought on players that up until last season were considered also rans is astonishing - the overall quality of the squad is dictated by the purse strings held by the board not Bielsa
we're still as far away as ever from promotion
------
And there's a comment that's worthy for a filter. Our highest finish was 7th prior to Bielsa arriving so obviously much closer to promotion under him.
Either you're a wum or you're too stupid to bother trying to debate with.
the articles I've read for the last couple of weeks you'd think we were bottom half
this time last season we were all lording it.. we are a point better off and we're all slitting our wrists trying to find out whats going wrong
you break my balls man, you break my balls
Much closer is right but after being in the top 2 for the majority of the season to not go up was a real kicker.
Some of the decision making from Christmas on has to be questioned, MB himself admits he sometimes gets it wrong.
Whilst I along with most are really glad we have him, he should not be beyond questioning
Average home gate 2015/16 - 21,667
Average home gate 2018/19 - 33,834.
OK so I choose a poor season and compared it to a good season to illustrate my point but gates are clearly up and compared with that season the football played pays for his wages.
And your moan misses the point that even doing things on the cheap, you still have to pay the manager, employing the likes of Rossler and Evans (and subsequently sacking them) wasn't free.

You only have to look at the midweek results to realise how tough it is.
Not many leagues have teams that can be bottom and go two up against the leaders on their own turf. Forest lose at home to Hull. Swansea battered 3-0 at home to Brentford.
Results are all over the place because anyone can beat anyone. That’s the sign of a tough league in my opinion.

AR said recently that wages are now 40 mill.
One wonders what size attendances we need to cover that.....

This! So much sense. The value Bielsa has added to our squad is a very relevant factor. 6m is cost-effective imo.
Yeah it's money well spent if you win promotion, problem is that's looking unlikely,we can't score goals and therefore won't win enough games. You can perm any of the the squad into the final 11and it won't make any difference. Forget the January window, we'll do nothing as usual,we should have strengthened properly in the summer but we didn't and are now paying the price. We may be second at the moment only 2points off the top but we're also only 2 points from 9th. If we couldn't go up last season from the position we were in, what chance this year.
