There has been a few links with Tonali now. I know absolutely nothing about him other than the bits that I have read, but sounds to me like he operates in the same area/way as Garner?

He’s actually been described as a Pirlo/Gatusso hybrid.

FM Wonderkid.

No idea what he's like in real life but a great signing in the game and they are usually quite decent at getting them right.

Surely it would be Brescia who are the feeder club?
No, wanting a nineteen year old hot prospect is not the last thing we need.
Unproven in what way exactly? He has a cap.
If you mean in the PL that means we can only sign players from the PL;

So you are saying he is the new Naby Keita?

i mean in football in general. one cap is hardly proven, i am sure fred had a bunch of brazil caps before he came.

what will happen is we sign this kid, put in all the effort to make him good and once he is 23, when it's time to pick the fruits of our labour, he will want to leave for real madrid, barcelona or psg who don't bother with youngsters and just buy the best players other teams have nurturted.

this is exactly what happened at arsenal with wenger for ten years. they became city's feeder club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what's your conclusion... Don't sign talented young players?

never say never, but in general the logical thing to do would be to get the best 24 to 25 year olds from around europe and then to keep them for five years until they hit their peak.

the stupidest and riskiest thing you can do is to only sign 19 year olds and to expect that

a) they will turn out to be really good,(they usually don't)
b) they will all want to stay together for years

sadly that is exactly what we are doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many 19 year olds have we signed in recent years?

posted on 30/10/19

If we were only looking at unproven 19 years olds I'd be worried, but I don't think that's the case.

No it isn't. We have always signed players from different age brackets. That hasn't changed since SAF retired.

He's gone rather quiet all of a sudden, hasn't he?

Reminds me of a recent [sh]article from Dunc where he derided posters for demanding Chong start games after another poor performance. Several posters asked who had been suggesting Chong should be in the team. He never replied.

Fcking hell yes. Simple as that. Dont know why we haven't thought of this tbh.

dont bring me into ya petty arguments

plenty of people were calling for not only Chong, but Gomes, Greenwood and Garner to be given game time... unless youre blind or cant read there is no denying that.

just because i dont have the time or inclination to go back through god knows how many posts doesnt mean it didnt happen

wtf is that?

so you dont sign youngsters incase they leave for another top club, instead you sign players who are 25 and will cost more.. keep them and then sell them when they hit their peak???

i take it you dont have an aptitude for business
