May as well keep sending the U21's out for this and send the seniors to the more prestigious competition.
Watching two Liverpool games in one day certainly would be really bizarre

Im happy with that, best case scenario actually, dont have to worry about added fixture congestion. Im sure youre only allowed 23 players to the CWC anyway.

Absolutely correct mate. Not as if they can all go, so some seniors left behind for the EFL with the youngsters.
Pathetic. The EFL knew 6 months ago that an English team would win the CL and that this situation could arise. Teams like LFC, Arsenal, Spurs get criticised for undermining the competition by playing weaker teams and the EFL’s solution to this is for Liverpool to play 2 games at the same time . Any other league in Europe would be giving the European Champions a week off to prepare for th World’s.
If this is the only option we are presented with we should withdraw and sue them for loss of earnings
I would prefer us withdrawing from the competition. This trophy is a big trophy for the likes of Arsenal and United.
We have eyes on bigger prizes

Think it's BS. We're in the quarters now so I want to win it. The semi finals aren't until mid January are they? Surely something could be fit in somewhere midweek before then no matter where it falls. We should have to compromise anything due to our success.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think this is also the first year of the winter break so not sure when these ties are going to be played. But FA cup also starts in January as well.
Should let MK take your place as a sorry for doing them over

Liverpool's fixture pile-up
4 December Everton (h)
7 December Bournemouth (a)
10 December Salzburg (a) Champions League
14 December Watford (h)
16 December Week of League Cup quarter-finals
18 December TBC (Qatar) Club World Cup
21 December TBC (Qatar) Club World Cup
26 December Leicester City (a)
29 December Wolves (h)
2 January Sheffield United (h)
6 January Week of League Cup semi-final first-leg ties
11 January Tottenham (a)

When do we fit it in? Imagine playing two teams over two days as the other team will be travelling to qatar. How can you play without your manager being there?
January 10th seems a good day for it

There’s a 5 day break between the 21st and 26th December. Can we not for another game in there?
