Sorry mate but this is scaremongering.

It will fluctuate. We had this with Germany and it went back down again.

Don’t believe the headlines and watch for the trends.

Going to be interesting to see what the gov will do about easing lockdown if there is a new spike, Businesses can’t survive this indefinitely

There is no one in the whole world who writes as moronic as you so a link is quickly made.

Most people breaking the lockdown are labour voters. Quick to blame the government when all goes wrong though

Jesus Christ, Tomkins, that is classic. I’m on Twitter and what you just said is the most moronic statement I’ve ever read. Just so thick on so many levels. The scariest thing is that it popped into your mind, or Katie Hopkins or that t w @ t who films himself in front of a world map, tweeted it and you now possibly even believe it. A stain - an absolute retar ded stain on society.

“The so-called "R-number" is now between 0.7 and 1.0 - it needs to be kept below one in order to stay in control.

The rise in the figures is thought to be driven by the virus spreading in care homes and hospitals.

The effect of the changes to lockdown announced by the prime minister on Sunday is still unknown.”

I think they’re saying the overall R rate has gone up because of cases in care-homes (which weren’t being counted until recently) and hospitals. The R rate purely among the general public is lower.

Well if it was based on data from three weeks ago, it is even more worrying our dumb government thought it a good time to start lifting lockdown, a week or so back.

Spot on.

I also think we need to accept headlines are at least in part designed to influence behaviour. Lockdown restrictions get eased and within two days and ahead of the weekend there is a message of caution that goes out. Basically trying to say to the public - don’t go nuts here, there’s still a risk.

Always going to be up and down in the same way it is across all of the world. When it gets up and above 1 and stays there for a couple of weeks we'll have to review. Let's also remember this includes hospital and care home cases, which it didn't for weeks whilst the R number was over 1.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Plus we are starting to identify regions where the spread of disease is worse than others which should hopefully allow us to pinpoint and control better without destroying the whole country and it’s economy.

There is estimated to be 8m of a waiting list for the NHS with a toll of countless avoidable deaths for other causes well on its way but yes, this is all about money.

ffs. As I said; quite possibly the most ridiculous thread yet.
