Probably caught it from Spurs
In all seriousness, what does happen now? My understanding is that the PL have argued, with some science behind the arguement, that the opposition do not need to self isolate.
But I do wonder if Norwich would need to. They should surely?
In my opinion, this is the type of scenario that backs the cancellation of the league.

I think both Norwich and Spurs should have to isolate for two weeks, otherwise it will make a complete mockery of the Tories Test and Trace, that they keep telling is is the best in the world.

I imagine not. That is the point of the vigorous testing.
A handful of players have tested positive over the past couple of weeks and to my knowledge none of their squads have had to self-isolate?

Yea I agree. But after all those tests, we still had a player test positive after playing a game. That has potentially put at risk quite a few other players that will be playing alot of games.
Remember, this happened during rigorous testing.

If a child/teacher tests positive for the virus then the class shuts down for 14 days for self isolation.
I genuinely have no idea why this won't apply to the Norwich squad, any ideas anybody?

I think the PL have argued that the criteria of being within 2 metres for 15 minutes has not been met. They have apparently shown evidence of a few seasons to show that the criteria mentioned has rarely been met.
Its a fair enough argument but doesn't seem consistent with how the general public are asked to follow the rules.
In all seriousness, what does happen now? My understanding is that the PL have argued, with some cash behind the arguement, that the opposition do not need to self isolate.

I can't believe how the Sky money and the desperation of the clubs to have it is allowing the Prem league to have a different set of rules to the rest of society.
Why isn't this being highlighted more by the non Murdoch media?

Greed always been the only thing the prem cares about.
Driven by money, Sky have already restarted my Sports subscription even though imitation football is not what I signed up for, the robbing basteds, I think I will cancel it altogether.
They make a mockery out of the PL and then charge you for it, cash is king.
Has any Norwich player spent 15 minutes within 2m of another player though?
If players are tested regularly though surely this won't be a problem. Any players that are positive just don't play.

Why isn't this being highlighted more by the non Murdoch media?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally speaking sports journalists have been pushing the restart agenda quite aggressively - presumably because none of them have jobs if sport doesn't come back at all for 6-12 months.
Though over at the guardian they suddenly decided, a month or so back, that this was all a very bad idea:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/may/09/premier-league-must-be-very-careful-or-the-empire-will-come-crashing-down
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/17/the-guardian-view-on-a-premier-league-restart-dont-force-the-pace
Heard a few times now from people that have had various symptoms of the virus - one of whom was hospitalised and ended up with pneumonia - who showed as negative when tested.
Neighbours son, who is a doctor, said testing becomes less accurate if done after the first two weeks of having caught it - hence some people having 3-4 tests done before showing they have / have had it.
Suspect this will apply to the tests being carried out on PL players. So this news comes as little surprise.
Have to wonder how many more of them are spreading the virus without realising it.
I think it’s ludicrous that your club are claiming that a player who literally played against you for the whole game didn’t come into close contact with any of your players or staff.
Greed makes people do and say crazy things.

What this article has shown is there are still a few desperate posters who don’t want football back.

Who is to say they have picked it up after playing Spurs? If these players are being tested regularly and none of Spurs' players have the virus, then they've caught it from elsewhere.
No story here, carry on and have that player self-isolate, simple.

It is not proper football though is it, but rather a sham and pale imitation, the season will never be remembered as a right and proper season, no matter how desperate you are.
It is absurd that they are allowing the rules on social distancing etc to be bent, putting public health at risk and chancing a second spike, and all to protect money.
