If players are tested regularly though surely this won't be a problem. Any players that are positive just don't play.

Common sense ffs, this is what’s been happening in the German league and has worked.
What this article has shown is there are still a few desperate posters who don’t want football back.
Unlucky lads
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is not proper football though is it, but rather a sham and pale imitation, the season will never be remembered as a right and proper season, no matter how desperate you are.
It is absurd that they are allowing the rules on social distancing etc to be bent, putting public health at risk and chancing a second spike, and all to protect money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Desperate These guys are frequently being tested. This wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t safe.

If somebody had said to me that the Prem would be back on in mid June with a 2m distancing law in place and over 1000 dying every week I would of thought it was a joke.
I still can't believe its happening and that there aren't more dissenting voices. Its not like its worth watching without a crowd and not surprisingly away wins are becoming more common in the German league which (if it happens here) will destroy any integrity that people might of thought the Prem still had.

Why is it a joke? People are dying everyday, what are we meant to do just stop for the rest of our lives? People die everyday, just because coronavirus has flooded the news for the last 4/5 months because the media have nothing better to talk about.
Coincidence how all the attention has turned towards rioting, BLM etc now that restrictions are being eased and people are taking less notice of the pandemic these days. Common sense should come through by this point.

Nah having a four month gap between game 29 and game 30, changing the rules, puts the whole integrity of the league up for discussion. It will always be remembered as the season with no proper winners. Most of the leagues have been abandoned.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely, we can not change the rules of a competition part way through and then carry on as if nothing has happened, money is the sole driving force here and had no money been involved, the season would have been binned long ago.
There are so many things wrong with a PL restart from an integrity point of view and the list of reasons why the season is now virtually worthless is too long to mention here, not to mention public health and safety etc.
It is going to be funny watching Pool fans celebrate winning a faux league title, that will only be remembered for all the wrong reasons, nobody other than Pool fans will recognize it as any kind of relevant achievement.
No doubt the Dippers will celebrate this worthless achievement among themselves, but as the saying goes `self praise is no praise`, so a title without recognition from your fellow contenders and rivals is about as meaningless as it gets.
Glad to see you guys are taking the imminent restart so well.
Sandy I am afraid I totally agree with all you say.
The rules are all being changed to accommodate the money driven PL which is an insult to lower level leagues.
Yes there is more safety to a point assured because of the money thrown in on testing etc but it still stinks.
I do think some of the anger shown in the demos is caused by the one rule for some and different for others,
Since the restrictions have been lifted and before probably the risk of this virus returning has been given a boost.
Ive given up to a fashion, there's no point.

I feel fine, thanks.
Though coming from someone who tries to reduce every single debate around the return of football to a "you wouldn't be arguing this if your team wasn't sh!t" that is quite rich.
Gotta love the way pool fans on here try to frame this debate as "if you don't want football back immediately it's just because you hate liverpool" - not like them to make it all about themselves.

Yeah that’s clearly been illustrated on this thread

If players are tested regularly though surely this won't be a problem. Any players that are positive just don't play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Common sense ffs, this is what’s been happening in the German league and has worked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
DesperateThese guys are frequently being tested. This wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t safe.
You’re talking about social distancinghave you seen the protests on TV or been to a supermarket
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If somebody had said to me that the Prem would be back on in mid June with a 2m distancing law in place and over 1000 dying every week I would of thought it was a joke.
I still can't believe its happening and that there aren't more dissenting voices. Its not like its worth watching without a crowd and not surprisingly away wins are becoming more common in the German league which (if it happens here) will destroy any integrity that people might of thought the Prem still had.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it a joke? People are dying everyday, what are we meant to do just stop for the rest of our lives? People die everyday, just because coronavirus has flooded the news for the last 4/5 months because the media have nothing better to talk about.
Coincidence how all the attention has turned towards rioting, BLM etc now that restrictions are being eased and people are taking less notice of the pandemic these days. Common sense should come through by this point.

Jeez, a poster who doesn’t carry on conversations to confuse context of comments
It’s pretty easy to post comments in isolation and say they are confrontational ignoring the context of the post, well played you’ve found your niche
I’ll leave you to it.

Yes, if only we would consider all your comments on this article/site in the proper context, it would be clear that you're not being confrontational at all, but considered and persuasive.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Tbf the rules around social distancing are constantly under review and will slowly be reduced.
Regarding football the players are constantly be tested, and the environment is proven to be safe (Germany)
It’s still 11 vs 11 and the team that scores the most goals wins, any talk about integrity is just sour grapes from the same small group of posters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah having a four month gap between game 29 and game 30, changing the rules, puts the whole integrity of the league up for discussion. It will always be remembered as the season with no proper winners. Most of the leagues have been abandoned.
