200m but only had one of them fit.
Havertz only been there a week. Ziyech injures. Pulisic injured. Kovacic out. Missing several key players...but we were awful lol

But we definitely need a keeper. Or play Dave in goal maybe.
Lotus was really bad one. The guy shouldn't even be on the bench not playing first 11. Mount had a day off too. Only positive James, Zouma, Christi and Kante, the rest below average. Not criticising new comers tbh at all, still new in country, first league game. Most important 3 poimts, no we move to next game, we need way better performance next sunday if we want to get some points, still ahead of Tottenham so we can all go to sleep๐๐
Thought Werner was very good whenever he got the ball but we stopped finding him second half
I dunno what exactly we were doing tactically? Besides Werner who was constantly in that left side channel, I don't even think the attacking players knew where they were meant to be. Havertz looked completely lost
It seemed like Lampard picked a team that could morph itself into a 4231, 433 & a diamond & let them choose when to change it. Fluid tactics with a rigid group of players, it looked so staggered.

Sign this fella up. He would’ve saved that goal, with his long arms

Havertz looked total dogschit, only positive I could give him was when he lost one of many balls he ran 60 yards or so to win it back and even then it seemed half hearted.
Very early days, but with such a big price tag some players try too hard in their first game toprove their worth. With Havertz though I got the impression he didn't really care,he looked disinterested, weak and out of his depth
Good heavens. Havertz has trained with us for a week. Give the players and the manager time to gel.
It was a poor performance yes, but no need to worry about it at this stage.

If Lampard persists with this idea of fluidity among the attackers, based on that we might be in for another Sarri season this year - where we can see the pieces & how they fit together, and all our games are just waiting for the click
Didn’t see it but it’s 3 points. That’s all that matters on the opening day.
first game of the season and you expect to come out all guns blazing? a little naive i think.

Yep
Sort of game we'd have lost by the odd goal last season, probably a late one. Not pretty but I'll take it over last season. Maybe I'm making excuses but I thought Brighton played well and were right up for it.
I think everyone is underestimating Brighton. They are very good. If I remember correctly, even though they lost to Liverpool last season, they still had the majority of possession in their game with them. These guys are no pushovers. Plus we had a much shorter pre-season than most teams, and half the team is either new or just getting back to fitness. I had a feeling we would draw the first game - so I was delighted with the result. Performances will improve as we get fitter, and get to know each other. I thought Werner was lightening fast, and it’s exciting to finally have a quick striker.
much shorter preseason? We had none! A few weeks of training and 1 practice match?
Yes of course its the same for everyone, but considering we have brought in 5 new players - with 3 or 4 of them surely expected to be starters we are gonna need some time!
Fook me the idiots are out calling Kai a waste of money
All about points on the board at this stage, performances will come later.
Ridiculous overreaction.
We were lame however
We had one problem yesterday: RLC.

Further to Suoerbs point. We won 1-3 at Brighton and its doom n gloom. Arsenal beat Fulham who are probably relegation fighters and they are on the up. Brighton took 6 points off Arsenal last season. They are no mugs and certainly more difficult than Fulham. Let's get some perspective.
We can't complain about 3 points and 3 goals away from home.
But,full respect to Brighton, they probably deserved something from the game.
OK. I thought I'd give everyone the time to react. I'm not having a go at Havertz, I understand it's the first game, that Brighton played well ... BUT WE ARE CHELSEA. We are expected to win these games ... and we did. But the same frailties are there, visible to all.
We did our job. Werner looked good. RLC didn't ... again!!!! Kepa
The only thing I will not back down on is that we will go nowhere with Kepa.

At this stage would anyone disagree with that? The club should have been strong and shown him the exit door this summer. That he's still here at the beginning of this season after being as bad as he was last season is shocking.
