What's salty or bitter about this?
what i was thinking
Havent seen much of Tomkins recently, cant think why he'd be back on here today
I think you're right but I'd add the missed chances as an equally big part of why we didn't win.
With this game and Newcastle we've dropped 4 points because we've not been ruthless enough - I'm hoping it doesn't become a bigger trend.
But tbf West Ham earned the draw by showing a resilient spirit - a freaky game all round

Yeah agree with the missed chances but to be fair to score three we really need the defence to do their bit.
Can’t believe we lost that second half 3-0
Sanchez, Dier , Aurier, winks and Sissoko are simply not good enough. Complete passengers the lot of them. Fed up of carrying them. Time to get rid or just shove them on the bench and never play them again. Until we stop playing these guys, we are winning f** all

Agree that tackle that Kane made at the end of the first half! Also he is the one dominant player in the air when we defend. Toby and Sánchez are both not strong enough in the so set pieces and crosses are always a concern.
Totally agree Spurtle. Our quality players like Bale, Son etc are doing their job. Even Ndombele absolute quality this season. It’s the same old donkeys like Aurier, Sanchez and even Winks. They are NOT good enough.

I agree apart from Dier and maybe Winks. I think Dier can improve, he reads the game well and is decent in the air and passing is ok. His decision making is poor and for that I hope he can improve. Winks I don’t mind as a squad player.
Aurier I have been really liking this season but then yesterday kind reminded me what he can be like.
For me Sissoko and Sánchez are just not footballers and do not have a football brain.
So fare this season:
Set piece goal vs Everton
Goal by Ings clean through
Penalty which should never have been (Ings)
Penalty that should never have been (NUFC)
Penatly from Clumsy tackle by Sanchez (Utd)
Goal from set piece (WHU)
OG (WHU)
Worldie (WHU)
so 3 pens, 2 from set pieces, 1 OG, 1 regular goal, 1 worldie.
Sanchez is totally the week link for me in all this. He's a mess and it causes panic & he's a bit of a donkey. At least Dier, who also makes errors, is more of a leader and more decisive and can pass.
But there is also game management. We should have kept the bloody ball in the last 10 minutes but failed, kept giving fouls away. Refs give every tiny bit of contact now, especially as they can hear the players yelp as they hit the deck.
What positive i do see from this is that the players can learn from it. Its an absolute killer, so disappointing and the players will feel this but at least it has not costs us too much. Its early days, loads to play for and improvement clearly necessary....even if it just hammers home that we need to be ruthless to the +90th minute, get that 4th that 5th goal. We were almost on a victory lap towards the end, but who could have envisaged that?? Well we will in future, so hopefully its a great learning experience.

I wouldn't put Bale in there just yet mate from the 20 mins we've seen of him.
The likes of Kane, Son, Ndombele, Lloris, GLC, Reguilon, Hojbjerg....these are the players who are performing well and carrying the weaker members on their shoulders.

Agreed. Not only don't this lot bring anything to the table, but they all consistently take things away. Every poor performance is usually down to one, two or more of this group
I still don't get why Winks did not put his boot through the ball at the end of yesterday's game. It was 20 seconds away from a 3-2 win. The ball should have gone into the stands.

Yes the free kick had been dealt with and he just had to belt it away. Instead he kind of lobbed it and got no distance. I'd love to know whether it was an attempted pass or if he thought it wouid go further than it did?
