Sack him, bring in Eddie Howe or Poch until the end of the season (both not working at the moment as far as I can tell so available). Review the situation in the summer and either give them the job permanently or get someone else in.

I read an interesting article on Ozil the other week. All about his commercial value to the club and how much Arsenal have made out of him. People say he has cost the club massive amounts, but in fact the opposite is true. His contract was largely based on his commercial value and not his footballing value.
As for his footballing value, what I have always said about him is roughly what Wenger said. He is a massive attacking talent, but the cost is he is not great defensively. As Wenger said, sometimes you need to compromise. With Ozil the compromise is defensively strong players behind him. Instead we compromised on having Xhaka start every game and look where that has taken us. Should have gone the other way. 4231 with a 2 of Partey and Torreira/Elneny, Ozil at no. 10 2 wingers and Auba up front

"Chip Chop" said Mr. Lumberjack.
Arteta deserves a chance to turn this around but if he doesn't give other players a chance in the PL and drop the likes of Willian, Bellerin, Lacazette and anyone else in really poor form then even those of us who would not advocate for his sacking right now will not be able to support him any longer. Continuing to maintain faith in the same players who are letting you down and have let the club down on numerous occasions before would lurch from stubborness to insanity and if not that then he simply doesn't have the balls to drop certain players from the 1st XI - even if that's going to be his downfall, he will die by his sword.

Just like our fans who still support Ozil and think he's some great player still.
He hasn't been a great player since the period when he won the World Cup with Germany and was playing for RM, then he had one good season with us, then the decline started to a couple of average seasons then several horrendous, unimaginably bad seasons EVEN when others players were playing well around him.
Please wake up, it's 2020, not 2014/15.
And of course Wenger is going to defend Arsenal, Ozil is a big part of HIS legacy HE signed him FML

Pretty sure Emery wanted all of those 3, obviously he didn't last long enough for Saliba to arrive though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Emery did NOT want Torreira..he wanted Nzonzi. He did not want Pepe...he wanted Zaha. So no..Emery did not get the players he wanted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arteta wanted Auoar and got nobody. He wanted Eduard and was left with Lacazette.
Did Arteta want Martinez sold? Did he want everybody’s hero Ozil banished?
There are plenty of things to criticise Arteta about but let’s not make it out like this is the squad he wanted. The likes of Xhaka, Ozil, Mustafi, Chambers, Kolasinac and Lacazette - Wenger’s failures, are all still here and until they are shipped out Arteta nor his inevitable replacement will ever have a chance of getting the players they actually want to work with.

Ozil averaged 3.6 or thereabouts chances created per 90 mins under Arteta. The next highest is 0.8. Thats in 2020, not 2014/15. I'm not saying that Ozil is a nailed on starter or anything like that, just that he does have something to offer and it something that we are massively lacking at the moment. I certainly think he could have helped us get to higher than 15th in the league.

Read emi's interview. He had personal issues with arteta. arteta would have also sold amn had he not been called up by Southgate.
arteta did want aouar preference to partey. just think abt that for a minute. xhaka in midfield supplying to another small attacker with nowhere to go.
arteta is a big boy. he is what he is. and was given a lot of power after changing designation from head coach to manager. No one to blame but himself. Arteta could have sold Xhaka last Jan but chose to keep him. A lot of problems do stem from wenger era. But arteta is also to blame.
I'm surprised how many of us, and I said us because I include myself in it, wanted Emery out after a series of bad results.
Yet, the completely novice, rookie manager needs more time and money despite no guarantee whatsoever that he has what it takes to turn things around.
Bearing in mind, he has been in charge for a year now and there is no signs of improvement. We are actually performing worse than Emery's last season despite having the same squad.

We'll have to agree to disagree though because personally I don't believe he would have given the chances he has been given over the past few years by 4 different managers and failed to take.
The guy won pretty much everything at a youngish age then fell out of love with football. Our team is not suited to fair-weather players and never has been, at the age of 32, physically you are not the same as you were at 25, I'm talking bio-mechanics and that does affect technical quality too.
Look I think Ozils time at Arsenal is over and he should go in the summer. However while we still have him he should be in our squad. He is paid a lot of money and should be repaying it to us,
Yes he won’t create 190 chances a season or whatever it is he creates, he won’t create 15-20 assists a season like he is used to. It will be more like 60 chances a season created and 5-10 assists now.
But he still has something to offer.

Just for him to get 5 assists in the league he would need to be playing all season and the points we would lose because of defending with 9 outfield players would surpass the points we would gain from him providing a few assists.
I find it interesting that people agree that he must leave and we must move on but then say he should be playing more for us. There is no point building anything around a 32 year old has-been that we need to shift now, just have to accept it's over and find other solutions because he's not it.
