If anybody deserves a break, it's Andy King. He's probably got a few years left in him and it appears he's settling in well.
It would be a good move for Benkovich as well.
Fully agree and glad he is going somewhere where he will be intrinsically valued from the top down. He should make an impact on that division and that team with his experience in the English game. Will be keeping an extra eye out now for Leuven's progress.
Ok Dunge
I would just like to say it's been a pleasure having you as a fellow fan and discussing all things Leicester City over the years but, given this development, I will totally understand it if your loyalties are now with OH Leuven.

Lol Joby.
I rarely listen to anything Paul Ince says, but he made a really good point the other day that players find “their club”. He was referring to Ings at Southampton.
I think some fans overlook this at times. Take Perez for us. Grated I groan whenever I see him in the starting line up or coming ob as sub, but I think it’s because he just doesn’t fit in to the way we play rather than is a bad player.
King clearly hasn’t found “his club” since leaving Leicester. The only challenge for him is he’s quoted as saying “they play a different style to what I’m used to”. He could settle nicely there or it could not turn out well. Not because he’s not the world class charismatic peace keeper you say he is, more that it’s not the right club at the right time.
For all he’s done for us, I hope it it.
Long live the Belgian King.

Haha! He's number 8, Dunge - you've been mugged off by the kit sales team in Belgium.

Either that or he's pinched the regular number 8's training gear!
Glad to see a true legend has found a club, wish him all the best in his new venture. Apparently he decided to go there after getting advice from another Leicester legend, Niger Pearson.

I don’t know him, but I should be very careful about using language like that Nuneaton
Irritating typo - just to be clear I meant Lord Nigel of course rather than someone named after an African country!
I quite like the idea that, regardless of Nige Pearson, somewhere out there there's an even Niger Pearson.
Nev would have a fit at the very thought.
Lots of corroboration and sources now that Big Nige did head butt Matt Mills from ex player interviews and one with the man himself.
However, also lots of noise that Matt Mills was one of the biggest pr 1cks in football.
Only make me respect our legend and leader Nigel even more 😉
Mersey - I understand that was a Ben Marshall interview. Said that Pearson nutted Mills but intimated that Mills deserved it.
A head butt? Pah, 'tis a mere scratch.
Walshy got picked up and held against the changing room wall by the throat when he was a player at Wigan and Larry Lloyd was the manager.
It's interesting to imagine the scene, actually.
Mills: "Did you see that!? He headbutted me!! He actually headbutted me!!!"
Bamba: "He sure did, Matt. He sure did.
...
What's for dinner?"
You know, thinking about it, it's amazing that Vichai kept him on after this. Regardless of any circumstances, in most jobs around the country you'd be fired.
It really says something about what Vichai thought of Matt Mills too.

That’s the one Dunge. Also referenced by Mills himself.
Marshall comes across as a man that struggles to manage himself. Clearly had a level of talent but struggled mentally. Difficult to say how much of that was self inflicted but he definitely struggled with the pressures of the game.
An interesting interview though.

On this, I think this was Pearson’s way of showing authority at a time that was needed. By Marshall’s account, it sounded like Mills “deserved it”.
What is interesting as a debate though is should you ever be fired in football for fighting? Now l, I’m sure we’ve all played football to a level abs you always end up clashing on the pitch, even with friends. You come off the pitch, understand it’s the heat of the battle abs move on.
In professional football it’s not different. If players were sacked for fighting we wouldn’t have any left!!!
But it that ok? Should we expect football to be a confrontation free world?
I’m not sure it’s possible.
It's not quite the same as two players squaring off though, Pearson was the Boss.
What would have happened if Mills headbutted Pearson ( assuming he survived afterwards of course)

I’m no condoning headbutts here by the way. Just suggesting some level of physical head butting is inevitable.

Mersey - the heat of the battle abs - is this where players pull off their shirts (eg Akinbiyi) when they score a goal or something more dubious?
