How embarrassed must city be that they use to employ Arteta as assistant. Probably launch an inquest now

Only 5-0. Not bad tbh

80/20 possession
25/1 shots
10/1 shots on target

5-0 flattered us. Very frustrating they should have scored at least 3 more

Yeah this literally doesn't even feel embarrassing should have been so much worse.

Arteta congratulating his players ffs - he should have walked down the tunnel in disgust

Genuinely guys, are there any managers who have ever come back from such a long period of mundane football and shiiit results?

Because I cannot think of anyone.

no goals in our first 3 PL games is another record for Arteta

1954 - there are only 6 arsenal fans alive who can remember that far back

I don't understand how a club can think that somebody with NO experience is the man to sort this out.

Because the owners saw him as a 'mini-Wenger' and have tried to mould him into one. Lol. He's barely as good as Steve Bruce.

BBC radio 5 live sujmmarised us perfectly - a squad of players no one else would want

Arteta DREAMS of being as good as Bruce

Just give it to Per or something until the end of the season. It surely couldn’t be any worse than this

It’s obvious Arteta will be sacked at some point. It’s just worrying how much damage will be done before they make the decision and then feck up the replacement

Unfortunately it's not at all obvious - not to the owners anyway

It won’t be obvious yet to them, that’s why I said it’s worrying how bad we get before they actually consider sacking him. It’s just extremely clear he will not improve us and will at some point be sacked. Probably be us needing 6 points to stop relegation before they replace him

Mid 80s, we were a side with a lot of very average players Don Howe was manager, and he started to introduce some younger players - some of whom would become great players for us. But it wasn’t enough, and he resigned when it became known we were looking to replace him.

Difference being (and obviously it was a long time ago now) but I don’t ever remember being this bored by, let alone actually dreading, watching us play back then as I do now. Okay, maybe against Liverpool, but even then we’d usually give them a decent game.

Now I literally dread every match.

And Don Howe mightn’t have been a great manager, but he was a really good coach. Despite what Pep (and many others suggest) I don’t even know whether Arteta is even that now tbh.
