Fingers crossed, it sounds like India are going to back themselves to push for victory. Pujara and Kohli will be key in laying the platform but Pant will be the one they need swinging away in the 3rd session. 4.2 an over for 90 overs on a 5th day pitch will be tough.

They might as well go for the win to be honest. Even if they lose, they'll back themselves to win at least 1 of the remaining 3 tests. And batting out the draw will be every bit as difficult, if not more so, than going out and playing positively.

Possibly, I did read that to make the WTC final, they need to win the series 4-0, 3-0, 3-1, 2-0 or 2-1. So whether they lose or draw this match, they'll still need to win at least 2 test matches anyway therefore they may see this one as a bit of a free hit.

Turned it on to see we are 7 wickets into them...and seen two more go already...awful capitulation from India and brilliant bowling from us

Superbly done by England. Batted India out of the game and then on day 5 turning pitch where they could only get a draw it was a very difficult task to defend.

Tbh I didn't expect England to bowl this well. Pleasantly surprised.
