Hmmm
Invest a sheite load of money year after year to essentially need more funding before the season even ends and just before what will likely be record season book sales?
There’s something essentially flawed with this plan here but I can’t quite put my finger on it

They were quite open about the club requiring a number of years of investment before being sustainable.
Some things happened that delayed that and added a few years on. Disastrous punt on Pedro with hefty financial backing and merchandise deal taking a much longer to sort out than they expected which is clearly a key revenue stream.
They did say at the last AGM they expect this to be the last year of the investment model.
What exactly are you seeing contrary to that?
Anyway... Dogecoin - Who's going to the Moon? 🚀

I agree.
I have said for the last 18 months Rangers should get rid of Morelos and move on.
That doesnt mean someone wont pay >£10m for him though.
At the end of the day he scores a decent amount of goals and leads the line very well. He just needs to cut out the childish, obvious acts of retribution on the park.

The required loans were from existing shareholders and not via Club 1872. Mind you have King’s shares needing selling too.
And let’s not forget this financial modelling was mooted years back when King took the reins. Every year it’s changed to no avail as the losses continue to grow. Fine while you can pay it of course and that’s up to Rangers.
But last AGM was built on the failure of the plans for the year before and so on and so on. There never seems to be a balancing of the books anywhere other than a plan that has never come close to succeeding.
Other than that.....
Unless something has changed then the money is going to Dave.
The 'statement' is deliberately misleading imho because the club are not issuing new shares. No announcement from Rangers or to 'the market' but they need to maintain the pretence or it torpedoes the share value of the remaining directors.
Talking of share value, no accounts from C1872 since Feb 2019 which is a disgrace in itself but nevertheless, given all the shares they purchased up to that point why are their assets listed as only a few £k?
Sorry guys but King is absolutely fleecing you.
Oh, and the board and C1872 are complicit in that process.

except there is a share issue and the existing shareholders are being invited to increase their holdings
that's exactly what's change
also i was onboard before this anyway when the plan was to buy from King or indeed anyone selling ( but in truth the stock is not very liquid)
this is just better as its directly funding the club

other than a plan that has never come close to succeeding.
----------------------------------------------------------
So you dont think Rangers plan is close to succeeding?
The plan that most folk accept was - invest in the team to build to success, get into group stages in Europa, win the league domestically, have a crack at the CL qualifiers.
And if the team has success domestically and in the Europa then few would argue that player values increase significantly.
Which, in my view is where we are approaching.
Come the end of the season we should be domestic champions, will have played in the knock out stages of the Europa and are heading towards the CL qualifiers.
Guys like Barisic, Morleos, Kamara, Goldson, Kent, Tavs etc all worth significantly more than we paid for them.
And we have some new blood brought in to work on already.
We also have a strong football management team, an improved scouting network and a DoF who seems to be pushing things forward.
There are no fans in the stadium this year so catering and corporate revenues will have been significantly impacted. So that wont have helped
But apart from Covid and the fact we havent yet entered into the phase of player sales - which other parts of the plan havent come close to succeeding?
So, everything going to plan then. Nothing to worry about.
Good.

Not at the moment no. As I believe any shortfalls in this share issue will be covered by new investors as discussed at last AGM.
I think we have very sellable assets that if they have a good euros the sale of 1 (Kamara, barisic) will cover our needs. If we even need to as ECL qualification will mean it's not required.
The problem then is if we don't identify good replacements but given the recruitment the last few seasons it augurs well.

Only to the extent that as Celtic have shown 3 or 4 bad windows in a row can be pretty bad.
Only time will tell if our recruitment infrastructure is up to it. I would say it looks promising though

I am sure there will be mistakes along the way. But from a playing and recruitment standpoint we are probably as far forward as we could have hoped when SG came in.
The financial side of the clubs business should begin to steady out.
The commercial side of the business has progressed massively in the last two years under James Bisgrove.
So key appointments like James and Ross Wilson seem to be working well.
