So, everything going to plan then. Nothing to worry about.
Good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not at the moment no. As I believe any shortfalls in this share issue will be covered by new investors as discussed at last AGM.
I think we have very sellable assets that if they have a good euros the sale of 1 (Kamara, barisic) will cover our needs. If we even need to as ECL qualification will mean it's not required.
The problem then is if we don't identify good replacements but given the recruitment the last few seasons it augurs well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds all sorted then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only to the extent that as Celtic have shown 3 or 4 bad windows in a row can be pretty bad.
Only time will tell if our recruitment infrastructure is up to it. I would say it looks promising though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't see that happening.

other than a plan that has never come close to succeeding.
----------------------------------------------------------
So you dont think Rangers plan is close to succeeding?
The plan that most folk accept was - invest in the team to build to success, get into group stages in Europa, win the league domestically, have a crack at the CL qualifiers.
And if the team has success domestically and in the Europa then few would argue that player values increase significantly.
Which, in my view is where we are approaching.
Come the end of the season we should be domestic champions, will have played in the knock out stages of the Europa and are heading towards the CL qualifiers.
Guys like Barisic, Morleos, Kamara, Goldson, Kent, Tavs etc all worth significantly more than we paid for them.
And we have some new blood brought in to work on already.
We also have a strong football management team, an improved scouting network and a DoF who seems to be pushing things forward.
There are no fans in the stadium this year so catering and corporate revenues will have been significantly impacted. So that wont have helped
But apart from Covid and the fact we havent yet entered into the phase of player sales - which other parts of the plan havent come close to succeeding?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The debt is increasing year on year is the main issue and this whilst you have admirably regained control of merchandise and done so well in Europe.
Just as a side note; I’ve always maintained that supporters couldn’t generally care less where the money comes from or what the debt is when they lifetime trophies; especially this year more than probably any as far as Rangers are concerned.
But no that doesn’t mean the plan is working I’m afraid and time will tell if the ability to sell players on with an increased value without giving up those trophies works or not.
The only way to tell is if a blunts get released whereby results improve and shareholding at least stabilises.

Celtic can afford the rebuild quite comfortably. Our issue as fans is will they? Only Rodgers in the past and O’Neil before that were times we did. History otherwise indicates we won’t.
And don’t worry, Celtic fans will renew their tickets ok.

Stevie,
You have a bit of a point but not much. King wants his money back plus costs. He persuades C1872 it is a good idea. Now we can debate the value, speculative or otherwise of the shares, hence my point that they don't seem to have been allocated any value whatsoever in the C1872 accounts, but to all ends and purposes the money goes to Dave.
Now, it seems the club need that cash, pronto? So, the club sell the shares, either to trump King or as some temporary holding en route to King? What does King get? He gets a an iou. Only Dave isn't daft and chances are it will be secured against something?
There was an expediency to his exit originally with him putting time limits on the sale so why would he be relenting with this faff now? My guess is that otherwise there was nobody else willing to put in the money to finish the season? Does Park have the money? I'm sure he does. Is he willing to part with more? Doesn't seem like it. Dave would only be agreeing iof there was a risk he loses the lot. Ditto C1872. A symbiotic existence.
So open your eyes and ask yourself what is the fans £2.5m funding? It's funding a loan from Dave.
Just putting a different slant on the OP. If that makes me a t@rrier cvnt so be it.
For balance, are Celtic in rude health? Based on the last accounts, yes. Going forward who knows?

They aren't exactly traded often as we are basically down to fans who have a few shares and will keep them for life and larger holdings that generally won't be sold.

So it seems that you need another fairly urgent cash injection in order to keep the lights on. Seeing that you now have all of these "saleable assets", and the league "race" (cough) was done a while ago, wouldn't it have been an idea to maybe sell just one of said assets in January? You know, like normal clubs would do when trying to balance the books, rather than asking the fans to cough up yet again? Just a thought.
