Celtic have sold all of their big assets in the last couple of seasons and reinvested a fraction of what they raised.
Money troubles?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Prudent management
Not something a fan likes in comparison to buying players but sadly needed for us both it seems?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm at it to an extent but Celtic have been mega tight.
Plenty big sales over recent years, Dembele, Edouard, Frimpong, Tierney, Ajer.
Millions upon millions and yet in this summer of reconstruction you won't even spend 15m. There's being prudent and there is taking the pash.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe? It's something we just have to live with, can't see it changing anytime soon mate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No big assets left so it will have to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It cyclical, we get them in cheapish, they do ok and we sell them on for a profit, others will be along and it will be rinse and repeat, I have been looking at it over 2-3 seasons last 10yrs or so
It was when Petrov went that I fully realised we were where we were
Celtic, as a club, will only ever spend within their means now by shelling out what is taken in! Fans might not like it but i don't ever see us getting into financial ruin anytime soon?

I would agree but surely as fans you want to see ambition. Spending all of what you took in this summer would have shown that but you will be lucky to spend half of that. Without even including the money made in Jan.
That's bullschit from the board and most of you will know it. They are short changing the fans.

Any player worth mega millions isn't coming to Scotland, let's be honest.
Maybe as a club we should risk it more. Risk it for something worthwhile like legacies ie 10IAR. As fans that is what we wanted but as a board they didn't agree and as far as success goes it cost us. We all knew we needed a rebuild at the end of the 10 season but it would have been far more sufferable if we had won last yea.
On the flip side the board refuse to put the club at risk. they know the incomings and outgoings. Capex and Opex are things that we rarely get to see entirely other than gross figures.
Perhaps the board should just say fvck it let's risk £15M on a player or two and if we end up in trouble the fans can pay for it with a fighting fund then we'll charge the media for interviews
We de want to see ambition Fash, but not something we're likely to see. I would rather we make better signings and go for 2 or 3 £5-10m players rather than taking punt on 5-10 £2 or 3M players. Thats where we need to be a bti braver!

Fans put in their money for success.
They've given us that and stopped 10. They have invested and plugged gaps.
Are we in a great position, i doubt it hence why we haven't spent this summer but we have plenty of assets are clearly in a good enough position that we can turn down bids of 8m for a second choice RB.
All the prophets of doom have been wrong for the past decade so i'll trust the board who have delivered what they said they would.
to sell eddie and not replace him is backward, off form or not.
christie needs replaced, as does griffiths.
we never replaced sinclair, tierney ( bit taylor... naw).
we only just replaced 2 rb's who left 8 months ago and not even both, just one.

I'd say arrogance rather than a lack of ambition. Arrogance that their pal Lennon could keep going what Rodgers started. Arrogance that he would come good. Arrogance that Rangers would continue to crumble after X,as

How can you say the board are a disgrace in the same sentence that they oversaw 9iar? Some of the loans last year were on terrific money.
Yeah we blew the 10, but not the first team to do that.

In Scotland 1st and 3rd team to do that
they are a disgrace for replacing a top manager with a lazy pwrick.
Lennon blew it twice btw.
I don't think it can been argued about the arrogance or lack of ambition from the club. But that's down to the club to be open and honest about these things and communicate to the fans. I thought DM coming in was going to change that - he talked a good game! But i have my doubts!?
So anyway. Where is Edouard's move confirmed?

Fair enough it was 9IAR but a lot of it was without challenge, the board don't deserve as much credit as you're giving them for it.
They should have got 10, no team will ever get a better opportunity to do it. It was gift wrapped waiting for them. They should have made Celtic uncatchable.
