There is no science to support vaccine passports. There is no evidence the passports reduce spread.

It’s just an excuse to drive up vaccines.

If the vaccines stopped the spread of virus I could see why there might be a reason to implement it. But as it is it looks like a lot of illiberal folk that can’t accept others having a view different to their own.

The reason to take them for me quite clearly was to stop serious illness and death. Was happy I did, as was still quite ill for a few days when I got it.

That study specific to the home environment where contact is likely to be up close and personal so little surprise. Also hardly a big sample.

Like you I had mild covid but almost all the possible symptoms. Took an antibody test to support travel plans when they should have been at their peak and not a sausage, completely normal. Raging

At the time I hypothesised that mild infections were potentially worse for transmission because folk may not realise they were infected, or, as in my case, mistook it for a cold that the girls in the house had at the time. It is a complicated picture. All countries are bemused how and why rates are going up and dow as they are. None afaik are changing their message on vaccination in response to this or any other micro study of transmission? North Carolina did remove their mask mandate this week.

Most covid is apparently spread in the home anyway - know that I and others that have caught and spread covid did so in the house. No idea who we caught it off though.

I did the nhs antibody test and had them before infection clearly so was happy I did, don’t like to think how I’d have been without!

I don’t expect anyone would stop saying to take the vaccine - that would be crazy - makes perfect sense to get more vaccinated. And for boosters for vulnerable. My issue is with folk looking to get kids vaccinated in order to protect themselves and restrictions on movement on what is currently mostly be young folk going to clubs who are super unlikely to get ill. As if that’s seriously going to prevent spread.

Covids not going away, getting more older folk vaccinated that aren’t current would help way more than getting young folk vaxxed. That’s clear from Ireland.

I’m all for the vaccination programme but it should be by persuasion and education. And even then we won’t get everyone.

Having a two tier society is simply wrong in my book and thankfully we don’t appear to be going down that road.
