I didn’t hear the commentary because I refuse to listen to sc um that spit at children. I watched on an American channel and they had no issue with it

Love richarlison. Can’t wait for him and Romero to play at the emerites 😂

I was more annoyed that he lost possession.

It’s nice to have him though. It’s quite funny seeing him wind up fans and pundits alike

its a bit disrepectful and cvnty but players have done this before and doesnt seem to have been a thing made of it then

Richarlison is a wind up and if he doesnt play for your team its easy to hate him, like i did about 2 months ago

seems great to have on your side now though and off the field now im seeing more of that side he seems like a good bloke

Seemed odd to do it against a newly promoted side in a fairly close game. Sort of thing you'd expect if a rival has battered someone in a local derby and tensions have been high, just to deliberately wind them up more.

Nani vs Arsenal was pure gold for our fans.

I don't know why it's seen as such a crime, way worse than wasting time in the corner or even diving for some reason.

Had to turn it off when I heard Carragher come out with "he winds people up, he winds ME up"
My god, that guy only has to open his gob to wind me up.
Seriously though, this is just another example of the different rules for different clubs stance that most pundits live by.
As said above, no comment was made of the resultant tackle, which bordering on waste high. Yet they STILL go on about the Kane tackle on one of his beloved Liverpool players from about two years ago.

Roll on the day the "age of the bias pundit" comes to an end. Like every other craze, it inevitanly will.

Richarlison has been very good so far, I just hope he can have a similar impact when starting.

The false outrage over the ball juggling is purely done to deflect attention away from a hard fought Spurs victory, if Rivaldo, Zidane or Messi had done it the pundits would have lapped it up.

Carragher is struggling more and more with each passing day to hide his dislike for Spurs. The rsole should have been sacked when he spat at children.

I’m all for it. Also nice that he gets under everyone’s skin so much. Like others have said I had my reservations about signing him for such a high fee. But the more I see and hear about him, I’m glad he is at Spurs. Grinds gears. Emotional player for a emotional game.

I’m okay with it if the person doing it accepts they’re going to take a good old fashioned whack from the defender for doing it.

Alfie Conn sat on the ball in one match for Spurs as I recall. The crowd loved it.

Winston, why should they take a whack? Bordering on foul play, and he could have been badly injured. Juggling a ball harms no one.

Well, it used to be commonplace and wasn’t condemned either, was it?

As a defender myself, if someone is showboating then you go in hard at the first available opportunity… I think most people would say fair enough, particularly if you’re basing it on the way things used to be?!

I haven't seen the Richarlison 'incident', I've only read some headline or sub-heading about it and therefore don't know exactly what happened for it to merit such attention. More likely just part of the present-day need for clickbait.

Having said that, there's a difference in pulling a trick you might not normally try when the result isn't in danger, and simply having the space and time and doing some pointless keepy-up at 6-0.

Like Sandy, though, I don't remember a bit of showboating being such an issue when I was young. I've no idea where it comes from, but at the risk of stereotyping it wouldn't surprise me if it had found its way into the game through the Argentinian "canchero" culture, whereby anything goes in the name of getting a result (the Argie keeper fake-crying before facing a penalty in a Liga MX playoff game last year was ridiculously brilliant!), but humiliating an opponent will not be allowed to go unpunished. Who knows, this particular 'unwritten law' might even have developed out of their fierce rivalry with Brazil.

Identity of the player aside and the team he was doing it against, if it’s not against the rules I don’t see what’s so bad about it. I would actually like to see players do more of this in certain situations eg. beating the defence when trapped near the corner or getting into the area to get an opportunity to shoot on goal. Some of these players are the best in the world, let’s see more tricks and clever thinking from them instead of more play acting and cheating.

The Forest players left him with time and space, so he did a little trick - no issues whatsoever.

Richarlison was no doubt trying to slow down play and draw fouls to see out the win.

That's exactly what he did.

Question for the people saying they see no issue… have you played the game to any decent standard and if so, would that still be your opinion if you were on the opposing team?

Yes. As others have said he was doing keepy ups, not like he took a sh*t on their half time oranges.

Fair enough, if that’s your honest view.

Personally I’ve seen it many times on a pitch and the opposing team has never been anything other than piissed off by it.

Wouldn't bother me in the least Winston. In fact I would probably be applauding them for entertaining everyone.

There is far worse things to get offended about during football matches.

I have seen my fair share of intentional leg breakers.

It’s not an either / or… you can dislike more than one thing at a game.

Yeah but to me doing a skill on the ball whether to gain a benefit or not, ain’t something for the opposition to take offence at. Nor is daft goal celebrations. Playing to the crowd etc. all part of the theatre.

Plus as others have said, Richarlison was looking to draw the foul. Run down the clock further. And done exactly that.
