We should really have chased that. Poor from Imam yesterday to lose wicket before close of play and even worse was the 2 batters who got out before lunch to leg side short balls.

Well played England, lot of credit to your seamers. Making the ball reverse and getting wickets on here.
Very close game though. Our first innings was really poor, shouldn't be getting bowled out for 200 on here.
Had a feeling it was a bit too much to chase as our tail are pretty much all number 11s lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Given the success our seamers have had, it's a real shame Afridi is injured, he could have had a huge impact on this series and especially this test match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is no one else is stepping up. Abrar made an impact but can he follow it up again now that England have seen him.
Afridi is a blow but would results be any different? I'm not sure. England are far superior in this new approach and the experience to back it up.
We are just going to have to take the medicine like Rizwan said.

Yeah, you lost it in the first innings. Leach getting some soft wickets. He is not a great spin bowler.
Shocking from Pakistan, they should have won that match with plenty to spare. A very poor Test side.
The sooner Pakistan get a foreign coach the better…. Saqlain absolutely clueless and out of his depth.
There wS quite a bit of criticism on bbc live text about the way England played this match. Seems quite a few people are applying the same rudimentary criticism of Southgate to Stokes, but i'm not arguing with 8 wins out of 9.
Odd that Mark Wood is not man of the match

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only real criticism I'd agree with is we didn't need to bat as quickly as we did yesterday given it was only day 3 and the pitch was always going to get worse. 26 run win is a lot closer than it should have been.
I like our new approach but there will be times where we can/need to be a bit more pragmatic, and I hope Stokes realises that.
Joel Wilson is one of the worst umpires on field as well as on TV. 35% of his decisions have been overturned on DRS - the worst percentage for any umpire in Tests… kaant.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
There have been times when we have been, I think we just assumed that because we got them all out for 200, that the pitch was strongly favouring the bowlers and therefore may as well score quickly.
Stokes the captain as a batter has been largely disappointing. Although as captain his average is 37, he's only got 1 hundred and 2 in 14 knocks. He's scored a few quick 20s, 30s and 40s. He's capable of a lot more although if it's keeping his mind fresh then I guess it can only be a good thing.
So typically English that there is a long queue of people waiting to stick the boot in as soon as we lose a match under Mcullum and Stokes. Which of course will happen given the aggressive style we now play.
It's as if before they took over we were the reigning world champions of Test match cricket smashing all before us.
Stokes and Mcullum are not idiots, they know they need to be adaptable to conditions and strength of the opposition, but they also know that are going to be times, conditions etc where they absolutely must go for it to win the game.

Yep, although he has been much improved in the few years before he became captain. He is perfectly able to express himself by standing there and belting through the line of the ball rather than dancing down the wicket and having a hack across the line.
I guess it's just a reminder that everyone has the freedom to play how they want. He'll tell the guys what to do when we are fielding but when it comes to batting, be yourself and don't die wondering.

Baseball narrative is getting a bit tiresome tbh.
There were plenty of periods where England were batting with caution in that 2nd innings. Like Pakistan, we also have a long tail and once exposed it fell apart. England batting collapses have been happening for decades. Look at our batting under Root less than a year ago.
England are now playing a more aggressive form of Test cricket but it's is not irresponsible cricket.
