Hasn't really been any drama in the last 16 until just now.
Hopefully the last 8 will be more competitive and exciting.
1970 for me, and also 1966 because I was at three of the games, including the QF and Final.
Some of the results give you hope that England may actually win it.
I would have said France 98 but to be fair Russia 2018 was great too, a tough one

Indeed
It's been a good World Cup and glad to see boring Spain, pass, pass, pass, nothing, go out.

I liked USA 94, some great games and big shocks - Romania knocking out Argentina, Bulgaria Beating Germany in the Quarters. Nigeria vs Italy, in fact Italy in general were nothing but pure drama at that World Cup.
Stoichkov and Hagi being brilliant, Baggio’s pony tail, Maradona on drugs, the plucky Irish and Dahlin and Brolin.
I've enjoyed it, but I assume anyone that did boycott was under some illusion that it would be a terrible world cup, on the pitch. Not sure your point was fully thought out.

This. Shame about the final.
It's a good WC despite it being in Qatar, not because it is in Qatar.
The most exciting World Cup in decades.
I was always fond of 1990 but the games were pretty garbage and England getting to the semi masked it. Also the Pavarotti tune was banging.
This world cup has been really good and i've actually enjoyed it being a winter world cup.
Haven’t really watched much of it, nowhere near as much as I usually would. Sounds like there has been some good games but I’ve just lost interest tbh. Definitely watching far less club football too over the past couple years.
So you are saying that because there have been lots of shocks, England could win it? England are favourites against whoever they face in the semis

Would the timing of your watching less coincide with Fergie leaving by any chance?

This is exactly where I’m at.
The near constant cheating, VAR, even the cost of football these days - particularly kits - it’s not what it was, even though the actual quality is higher.
The corruption of this World Cup has added to that feeling a lot.
Much more into non league these days.
Nah, more having a kid but I do think the way football has changed over the past few years has made me more detached from it. I occasionally go see my local non league side which is fun, you can BYOB and drink while you're watching too which is a bonus.
México 1970, although Ally Mcoist is trying to ruin this with his annoying punditry
I always thought the WC you watched when you were 8-10 years old was your favourite?

100% this
There's nothing captivating at all ( despite what the commentators are always claiming ) about watching Spain passing the ball backwards and sideways for 120 minutes while hardly creating any chances.
I'm glad they're out too
