Seriously, burglary is not against your moral code?

Absolute pond life who do this, and police aren’t interested about it either
Should be allowed to shoot the bastaards if you catch them at it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are people who shoplift, pickpocket and burgle houses because they don’t believe that there’s any other way to heat their home or feed their children.

The UK has people turning up at their local food bank and finding that there’s nothing left on the shelves.

I’m not excusing all such crimes, obviously, but I think it’s always useful to understand context.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Taking burglary alone, it’s not something that’s been borne out of the cost of living crisis, it’s always existed, an easy way to get something for nothing while destroying peoples lives and making them feel unsafe in their own home
As much as I hate this government I’m not going to lay the blame at their door for people stooping to such levels, absolute scuum
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, as I stated in my first post, not all burglaries are committed by people desperate to heat their homes or feed their kids. There are surely organised criminal gangs, career criminals and opportunists responsible for most of them.

But the data shows us that petty crime tracks poverty pretty well. The more poverty in society, the more petty crimes are committed. People with no history of criminal activity who might not have ever dreamt about committing a crime of any kind are driven to do so by necessity.

This is why all of a sudden we’re seeing blocks of facking cheese in GPS-tracked plastic cases in supermarkets and shoppers having to ask staff to bring them meat out from the back rather than being able to take it from shelves.

(Semi-related: There’s another factor that criminologists call “relative deprivation”. This doesn’t reflect any necessity or perceived necessity to commit a crime to help make ends meet, but people committing crimes because they feel jealous of the possessions or lifestyles of others or a need to ‘keep up’ with peers, neighbours, colleagues, etc. Quite different, but is also posited to help explain why societies with high levels of inequality also tend to see higher petty crime rates, even when least financially comfortable demographic is by global standards relatively comfortable and can generally afford to make ends meet.)

I totally agree with Rosso regarding some people who shoplift, fraud and burgle to eat and live.

But. Unless you have been house burgled, especially in the possible worst ways, either violently, or losing possessions of sentiment, its leaves a terrible feeling of violation and intrusion that are hard to shake. Forcing many more vulnerable and anxious victims to even move house. Many burglars like to take a messy dump in your toilet and not flush before they go, too for some reason. Like a calling card. And that's just disgusting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your DNA can be extracted from your log. Or at least something that narrows it down to your maternal line so pretty decent circumstantial evidence in a court. However, it is expensive and most police don't care much about burglary unless it is royals, politicos, very high value or aggravated by attempted murder or more.

Yep, feck burgers, I’ve had two experiences.

One as a child, we had our PC robbed and they maxed out parents credit cards, one with a charitable donation which is strange.

The other I was at home with my wife, stood at the top of the stairs and fortunately managed to scare them off with a small bat I happened to have in my room.

Both affected me pretty badly and I still worry as I’ve now got two kids. Staying away for work of pleasure brings on huge amounts of anxiety.

Did you try putting some cheese on them? Even just a bit of salsa underneath as well can really help change your mind on them. Don't let a couple of bad experiences put you off them altogether.

Depends on the nature of the crime and whether your moral code aligns with the interests of the state.

Dancing in the dark after midnight in Japan is an actual crime. As is swearing in the UAE, chewing gum in Singapore, insulting the monarchy in Thailand, building a sandcastle on a beach in Spain, pessing in the ocean in Portugal, or wearing a fake beard in Denmark.

Having slept on it I've decided moral code is the wrong choice of words, though I don't know the right.
I'm talking about things beyond my comprehension, some types of crime unimaginable to me. Words to differentiate them from more ordinary crimes.

“For example Bank robbery, fraud, burglary, fraud are not against my moral code.“

Depends on the context. I think there’s a special place in hell reserved for people who target the elderly and vulnerable. Did a job a few months back for a chap with dementia who’d been ripped off, takes a special sort of specimen to do that to someone.

I got mugged by a coloured gentleman in Barcelona. I didn't then become racist, because I'm not a tory cant.

As the saying goes a tory cant is a tory cant before it gets mugged/robbed, then if the tory cant gets mugged/robbed, they continue being a tory cant but justify it because they were mugged/robbed.

Anyway, I don't think anyone is saying that tories aren't cants. I think the argument here by tories is that they are justified in being cants based on their experience and then how they interpret that experience with their small minded approach.

Begs the question what one should shout but hey ho.

It is illegal to drink on trains now in Scotland post covid because beer might give you covid and you might pour that beer that has covid over someone else and give them covid. It is one of the most important laws to follow and I would never break it because I am a good person with a strong moral code.

People's moral codes are all over the place in this fanbase. There's plenty that don't want Greenwood back but are salivating at the prospect of Qatari owners.

Selective moral codes are more fun clearly. 😂

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I am one of few that want the Qatari and also could not care one iota if Greenwood comes back to play for us.

The woman in question is having his baby. From the looks of things, he has been welcomed back by her family whilst they enjoy his riches. It is their problem.

Listen very carefully to our manager, this is what separates me from some idiots here. ETH is a winner, he is talking about goals!!! Currency of this game and from what I could tell ETH has no qualms welcoming back the player.

I am no judge or the law, the man is free man in the eyes of the law, he should be allowed to bloody work and earn a living.

Move on
