I know very little about Brown, is he from our Academy?
I've just finished reading Sonny Bradley's interview and not surprised by his comments given his leadership qualities but it does excite knowing we now have 3-4 leaders at the back with strong work rates and barking orders to the squad.

Bradley making comparisons between PW and Nathan Jones amused me, Jones for all his coaching strengths does come across as an extreme oddball.

I also read Washington's interview, the main point that struck was him discussing his time at Charlton and stating he was played out of position and not in a system to match his strengths. He did reasonable well with Charlton. According to Washington PW understands his strengths which implies we'll see a better version of him.

Collins and Washington to fire us to the L1 title 🙂. Spart you excited yet?!?!

Report suggests we are after Matt Gordon from Coventry, and also Billy Sharp.

Billy Sharp came out and had a go at Derby fans a few yrs ago and I don’t think he would come to Derby.

I believe Brown was in the U18s but likely to be an U21 this season. I agree that that game and 10 mins of highlights mean little but he did seem to have something about him - a striker, strong and quick.

I sincerely hope we are not in the market for a 37 year-old but anyway I'm sure Sharpe hates Derby (or the fans, or both.)

Knight going to Brizzle for cash and Wilson in exchange.

posted on 9/7/23

Wilson is a wing back whom B signed from Forest Green. On You Tube he looks more like a winger - very quick and clever.

Stats on Dajaune are a bit sketchy, but if theyre to be believed he scored 9 in 9 games for the u18s last season and 1 in 3 for the u21s.
Even Spart wouldnt complain, would he ?

Kane Wilson signed from Brizzle.

This is all coming together very nicely.

Two more strikers plus a DM would make it just right provided Rooney is kept and not loaned out as I think we will need him.

Agreed Chicago. I like how defence is practically sorted with the recruitment of tough defenders considered as leaders.

I don't think our midfield requires too many reinforcements, perhaps a player on loan? I think Rooney will offer an important role due to his versatility in defence and midfield. I do wonder if Sibley is next to go?

Had a look at the free agents available and noticed one Alexis Sanchez on there. He'd be a great upgrade on McGoldrick but I'm in fantasy football there! It's like Derby trying to sign Roberto Baggio for my birthday.

Josh Maja would be a great signing at L1 level but I doubt he'd drop that low, Championship maybe.

Benjk Adobe, Bonne, Kenneth Zohore, Connor Wickham just some of the household names now becoming free agents. It has bee suggested PW will now be looking at slightly older players. A few names crop up to make you wonder could this player be what we need?

Spending an albeit small fee on what may be a back-up wing back suggests there is a bit of cash available for strikers so I hope we are surprised and impressed by whoever it is we get. DET reporting we are after Godden from Coventry. I think we need two - a “star” by League 1 standards and perhaps a pacy loanee in the Osula mould. In midfield we have Bird, Hourihane, Smith, Sibley, Thompson and Robinson. Numbers wise that’s enough but do we need a boss in there?

Oh, meaning he wasn't included as part of the Jason Knight deal as mentioned on an article last week?

I'd be surprised we get two strikers unless someone else leaves as N-ML and Barks will not always be getting game time on the wings so could be used as attacking options next to or behind the CF.

Yes, we all want promotion this season. Read this and it could be the monkey's paw. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/jul/11/spiralling-costs-tear-though-notion-of-sport-as-a-communal-force-for-good

Rooney signs contract extension.

I found a good podcast on You Tube during which all four contributing lads were raving about Robinson's performance at Matlock. (They sensibly qualified the praise re the context of that game.) They felt he could replace Knight in the team. Any thoughts from those of you who have seen more of him than me?

With the lack of screening of the u21 games last season not many of us have properly seen how he is progressing, however he was named Scholar of the year for the 2nd time at the end of last season. Also the small bits Ive seen have often been when he has filled in at centre back to cover for injury to Bardell etc.
Hopefully he can get a fair bit of game time in the cup comps in his best position and not be used as a fill-gap like Knighty has been in his Derby career. 🤔

Jordan Rhodes could be coming your way

Rhodes has never impressed me except for that one good season he had for Huddersfield years ago. Can be playing for 90 minutes without being noticed.

Well, that's going to put Spart in a difficult position...🤔

His legs have gone a bit now,,but he's still a sniper in the final 3rd...unbelievable finisher

Warnock rarely played him last season and he's been left out of the pre-season tour...personally I would keep him as an impact player for 30/40 minutes but I'm not the manager

Just saw online that you lot could be interested
