More than just a missed penalty?

Yep, DF, coaches, players need to bounce back big time today. They owe us fans a big performance and result against Hudds.

Regarding Bamford, agree again with your main point above. He’s living on past glory (relative term - he’s been good for us at times in the past, but never ‘great’ imo). DF has a real problem tho’ now in that Piroe is as quiet as a church mouse in most games. How he gets either of those two firing in the goals we need is a problem above my pay grade. Hope it starts today though.

Yes, Light, I’m one of those who think Farke should at least try swapping Piroe and Rutter. But it’s the boss who lives and dies by his decisions - please God it’s not the latter…

Bamford should never take another penalty while at the club (which I hope ends in January).

On the Square Ball piece, Phil nailed it. Bamford has
no strategy to his penalties. And it's obvious that he's
using those penalties to exact revenge on fans (like
me) who know he should not be taking them. He's at
the point where he's trying to prove us wrong while
costing the team goals and points. Arrogant tw4t.

if he had handed it off to summerville the same people on here moaning about him taking it would be saying how dare he not take it, he is a striker he should be stepping up and doing it.

posted on 28/10/23

Ha, I think that would depend on whether Summerville missed it or not.

I wouldn’t.

I don’t want him anywhere near the starting 11.
Or squad. My hope is we sell him in January.

As for him being a striker. He is in name only.

I do remember the classic defense of his lack
Of goals being “that’s because he’s a modern
Striker. They don’t score goals.” Fantastic.

Well, that makes him the definition. He can’t
Score from six yards or the penalty spot.

posted on 28/10/23

The issue now is that the other players don’t like him. You saw it in Rodon after the penalty miss, you saw it today where players don’t wan to pass the ball to him. He is a selfish, immature individual with no sense of responsibility to the team. He deserved to be booed today. Fans have had enough of his petulant behaviour and abysmal finishing.

You talk absolute dog poo. Stop talking as though you know cos you don’t know what his team mates think. Any fan saying any Leeds players deserved to get booed should be deleted from this forum. Its for supporters. you ain’t one. You dont get to say that ‘fans have had enough’. You might have an opinion but you don’t represent us.

If there was anymore in this Farke wouldnt have stood up for Bamford and would not have picked him again today.

Bamford very likely to be at the club for the next 2.5 years. No championship club can afford his wages. Very few Premier league teams would want him on current form and injury issues. There is nowhere really for him to move to unless he is willing to take a big wage cut or he ends up moving abroad but that may not be in his plans with a young family.

Why dont we just get behind all our players because we are likely to get more from them if we support them.

Farkeness has a really annoying habit of posting quite damning statements as if he knows rather than suggesting it. Dosnt he live in New Zealand? Certainly does not represent my opinion and can keep these horrible comments on the other side of the world. Quite simply Farkeness eff off!!

You and Kebab seem to enjoy watching Bamford strolling around misplacing passes and shooting feebly wide. Oh, he's a loyal servant who was here when we got promoted. That's four years ago, mate.
You are pretty quick to forget that he is paid to score goals, not to balloon balls over the crossbar from two yards or twelve. It's a results based game, but Bamford doesn't produce any.
I would be prepared to give him a chance if he was prepared to give himself a chance, but honestly, his arrogance in cupping his ears and his comments about our defence (thankfully, he's not voicing his opinions so much at the moment) and his ridiculous posturing to take a penalty when every Leeds supporter on the planet knew what was going to happen make me furious. His presence is harmful to a growing team, he represents entitlement without contribution and should be removed from the squad. That's my opinion. By the way, I don't criticise those who disagree with me or make inane comments about their knowledge of football, so keep the personal comments to yourself.

Agree Farkeness.

There are a few on here that don’t understand that
The modern game is a results based business.
Stressing business. Bamford has cost us in both
Departments 2+ years.

The sentimental cult can’t or won’t see it. They
Have so many words typed on here denying the truth.
Truth hurts them. So they get their pompous
Knickers in a twist because they know Bamford
Is just shockingly poor. He gets paid the second
Highest amount per week on the team. For what?

He should never have got the new contract that
Ends in 20-fcking-26. That was an ego laced deal
From Orta. The guy who staked his reputation on
Bamford at Middlesbrough and then us.

Him and Paddy got lucky when Bielsa and his system
Came in. A system so good, he told the club he could work with what most thought was a dross squad.
Including a certain #9. Biggest mistake Orta and
Bamford made was once Marcelo had gone, they’d
Convinced themselves they were top drawer. They
Weren’t. Bielsa was and so was his system.

For some weird reason the cult of Bamford bought it too. Now Orta’s gone. But even he realizes Bamford’s
Done. Otherwise he would’ve dragged him over to his
Latest fck up in Spain. He could afford him.

I do agree with the one insinuation though. At his price,
Wages, injuries per minute, and lack of goals and a right
Foot, he and that idiotic contract are here for a while.

And that will hinder our growth in all senses.

I get accused of hating the bloke. I don’t. I just
Think he’s sh 1 t for the money he gets paid.
I hate the fact we’re stuck with him. When that
Money could go to a player who can actually
Help us get back to the Prem.

Nobody mentioned anything about Bamfords ability.
The issue brought up was you stated it was ok to boo him and you make statements that have zero substance and talk on behalf of other fans.

It is never ok to boo your players that have and continue to try their best for the club. If you think it is please go and "support" a different club.

It is not good to make sweeping statements like none of his teammates like him unless you know this for a fact.......which it simply is not.

Deflecting away from the issues raised was not the best way of attempting to reply neither.

I still think Paddy Bamford's a good player. I just don't want him playing for us anymore! It's not right to boo your own players, though...

posted on 30/10/23

Never boo players or team…irrespective of the reasoning or whether you think it’s justified - it’s counterproductive to the success of the team. The manager picks the players, if the players are having a bad day/week/year/career! They need support - not humiliation. I hear people say they should be able to handle it - and as a pro sportsman it’s true but they’re human beings - if what you do risks making things worse - don’t do it.

As for the penalty… I find it inconceivable that a pro football team doesn’t have an agreed penalty taking order so you know who’s going to take it whoever is on the pitch.

Eg:
1.Piroe
2.Summerville
3.Bamford
4.Rutter
5.Gnonto
6.Ampadu

Etc. Then there’s no discussion.

It is clear that the Bamford penalty miss has not had a negative impact on the team spirit.
