I think there might be about to be a fire sale at Forest.

MGW anyone?

posted on 17/1/24

I would at the right price.

posted on 17/1/24

I’d be confident in saying MGW wouldn’t come back to Molineux even if we wanted him to. Bridges have been burned there

It had been widely tipped that Guedes would be playing for Villarreal in Spain for the rest of the season, and he still might. But there’s speculation in the Portuguese press that he might instead be off to Saudi. Maybe Wolves could get a surprise transfer fee if that came off

Don't think we need to worry about Ait-Nouri leaving in January but the summer seems quite likely.

Realistically i reckon around 35-40 million.

Highlights for anyone who hasn't seen them.

Thanks Tam

Fraser looked a handful

wonder if a loan for Fraser could happen if we bring in a striker this window?

posted on 17/1/24

Fraser has a loan deal lined up with Shrewsbury but we weren’t letting it happen until we brought in another forward. After last night maybe they won’t let him go at all

To avoid being charged with breaching sustainability rules this week, Wolves needed to submit accounts for 22/23 showing a loss of no more than £77m. The accounts evidently showed a loss of just under £70m

Man City won the FA Youth Cup final in 2020. Their midfield that day was Doyle and Hodge
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Hodge is a talented lad but you can tell he needs games, would probably benefit from the kind of loan Doyle had last season.

Wolves U21s qualified for the knock out stage of the International Cup after their goalless draw with Hertha Berlin at Telford today. Good result for the kids considering their keeper was shown a straight red card for a foul outside his area after only 7 minutes

The Spanish La Liga could be heading to a Leicester City style shock champion success story this season. Girona have not been regulars in the top flight and have never finished above 10th at that level. But they currently sit top of the league ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona

Ah this explains why my lad spotted a group of German speaking lads in Hertha Berlin tracksuits as we were leaving the ground last night. Didn't see our heat them myself I thought he was making it up to be honest, I owe him an apology.

Quite a story. They are owned by the same guys as Man City i think but certainly haven't pumped money in to be as good as they are.

Probably says more about the absolute mess that Real and Barca are in than anything else. I can't remember a worse Barca team in years.

Certainly the right decision for Santi Bueno to swap them for Wolverhampton.

The public perception of Wolverhampton has definitely changed since it got City status, and Wolves were established as a Premier League team.

Quite a few luxury cars seen driving round Tettenhall in the afternoons, and a considerable decline in drug related, drive by shootings on Broad Street since they installed the telescopic bollards

I see Saiss scored the opening goal for Morrocco in their AFCON match yesterday, looks like he's fully fit now unlike during the WC when he struggled with injury.

posted on 18/1/24

Never quite understood Saiss' departure at the time although, fortunately, Toti has now developed into possibly an even better player.

posted on 18/1/24

Things haven’t been going well for Saiss since he left Wolves. He first moved to Besiktas in Turkey on a 2 year deal but after one year they loaned him out to a club in Qatar. He only lasted 6 weeks there before moving on to one of the smaller clubs in Saudi

With the FFP situation at Molineux, the sooner we get rid of Fabio the better.
The outrageous fee and ridiculous wages paid for him has been a absolute disaster and still is costing the club dear.

posted on 18/1/24

None of which was the player's fault of course. He might, one day, make a decent player but I'm not holding my breath.

I keep looking and trying to work out what it is he’s good at? I always thought he would be best playing off a proper number nine, such as prime Jimenez, which obviously never happened for him.

posted on 18/1/24

As you say Wulfrun, not his fault and I’m not having a go at him.
The fault lies entirely with the people that agreed to lay out the money.

Can’t say I expect to see Fabio to play for Wolves again. Feel sorry about that because the fee has always been a burden and rarely do you see comments about him without reference to the fee. Also didn’t help him to be thrown in too early when Raul got injured.

Hope he does well at Rangers to help his reputation then goes on to have a good career somewhere.
