Wolves v Brighton Match Thread

Was looking up a few of our ex players tonight, kind of sad how some just never met their potential. Helder Costa and Cavaleiro are both surprisingly 30 now and Helder is actually a free agent while Cav is at fifth placed Lille but mostly injured and off the back of a wasted time in Turkey.

Be great to win this one and get a home draw against a beatable side in the next round.

I'm not confidant about tonight. Hopefully we see a few changes, as that second half on Sunday was a shocker and might be lingering in the minds of several players.

We should be approaching this match without any pressure and just looking to enjoy it, let's face it we're not winning the trophy are we?

That BBC Red Button emoji is worth 5 stars on its own.

sounds like we can watch it live on red button that’s good, not confident of a favourable outcome but at least we stopped the rot in the recent away draw , have a feeling there may be a few a couple of changes, would not be against seeing Fraser start

Tough, but it’s time we beat this lot.
We will have to be better than Sunday and quite honestly we cannot be worse than the second half performance.
2-1.

Agreed. Despite some on 'ere finding the performance "a pleasure to watch", most were really disappointed.

It was disappointing on Sunday. I’m sure GON would have loved us to play the same way we did away at Chelsea and Spurs but playing against Sheffield was always going to be a totally different game with them needing to play a solid game having conceded 5 on three occasions recently

Tonight will be a different challenge again. Brighton dominate possession even against the top teams and press the opposition high up the field making it difficult for them to build up their game from the back. I thought the Brighton performance at Molineux in august when they won 4-1 was one of the best I’ve seen from a visiting team since we’ve been in the Premier League.

But that was very early in GONs time and we are a much better team now. Brighton have a few important players out and with 3 games in 6 days it would be no surprise if we rotate our squad a little. Could well be starts for some of Doherty, Santi Bueno, Doyle, Bellegarde, Chirewa or Fraser. GON confirmed in his press conference yesterday that although Cunha is the only injury problem, there are players showing signs of tiredness

Our U17 team beat Stoke yesterday in the U17 Premier League Cup Semi Final and will play Chelsea or Man City in the final

The FA Cup 6th round draw takes place at 7 tonight so Wolves and Brighton will know what awaits them before tonight’s game

We all know that WO loves to twist comments around to suit his own agenda, but my remark about stating it was "a pleasure to watch", referred to the first half performance and in particular the play leading up to our goal. We passed the ball around with ease and deserved our goal. Mainly because United sat back.

The second half was a mess as everyone has mentioned and that was due to the completely different tactics by United.

Nice try tho' WO.

It'll be interesting to see what changes are made for tonights game. We are fortunate only to have one player on the injury list and looking through the lists from last Saturday, there are a couple who have 9 out injured, including Sheffield United.

Premier League is never short on random facts, and it’s reported that Semedo has been measured as the fastest 30 years and over player in the Premier League, marginally faster than Kyle Walker

Some key players missing for them should really give us the edge.

We may not have a great league record against Brighton but we have a 100% success record in the FA Cup. We won our only other encounter 3-2 in 1978/79.

I’ll settle for that score tonight

Little surprised at the 4 changes, will be interesting to see how it works. Massive incentive to win this now.
