Ampadu was stellar in the beginning of the season, really stood out then.

Hasn't had a bad game since.

It's an easy for me.

Happy birthday earlier in the month to:
- Archie Gray (learn from Kalvin's experience and stay with us)
- Jonty!

Rutter for me by a short head from Rodon.

Everything goes through the lad. He's the spark which ignites this team for me, and not many gave him a future at the club last summer.

Honourable mention to Dan James. He's now got a good end product to his game & seems a genuine good lad. Pleased for him & I hold my hands up, I was wrong about him.

Gruev & Kamara have given us a solid base & have also proved many wrong. Many voiced an opinion they didn't want us to sign Kamara & Gruev was slated on here on the basis of a couple of two minute sub appearances.

No praise high enough for Farke. Amazing to recall Rodon made his debut appearance thrown on up front at Birmingham. I don't think many saw us at the top of the league at any point this season after such a chaotic start. The man has worked a minor miracle. I hope & pray he can finish the job.

Ampadu consistently very good every game wherever he plays. And consistency is the key, think the others mentioned don't match him for that.

Lots of good performers throughout the team - the secret of our success is probably no real weak links this year - at this level. But it's Ampadu for me.

Amps for me - looks so assured whether mid or moved to the back.

Hard to chose between the defensive Welsh dragons, but Amps gets my vote.

Massive swing today towards Ampadu. Rodon has lost a vote whilst Ampadu has gained many.

on a serious note, Summerville for me... just a delight

Would put Rodon just behind Amps, (shades of Terry Butcher and his visible battle injuries), but I'm concerned that we may encounter another Ben White situation. Hope Spurs remain asleep - keep telling them he's nothing to write home about!

Of that list, got to be Ampadu for me. A wider list should also include Mes and Gruev.

Or Trumps lost over 400m paying for votes!..

You know we have had a good season when there are a number of players to choose from. Normally its slim pickings!

I do think there is a big gap between those 5 and any other candidate though.

A lot of good contributors limited to 1/2 season - Bamford, Piroe, Byram, Gnonto, Gruev, Struijk

The only players with the large game time are Meslier who's had a lot of quiet games and Kamara who is nowhere near as influential as the 5 nominated.

I’m voting for Dan. He was treated poorly by the Club but this season he has shown why we wanted to sign him from Swansea! He was excellent the beginning of the season, before his injury, and was scoring for fun. He kept Gnonto out of the team.

Yes that was me unfortunately I had a senior moment thinking I was rating the article and not realising I had in fact given my vote to Rodon by mistake when my preference for POTS was Ampedu so I duly corrected it.

Be interesting to see what the club do with DJ if we get promoted, contracted until 2026 but struggles at Premier league level, couldn't get into the Fulham squad as a starter and was farmed out by Marsch.
My feeling is that we will need better all over the pitch and Dan will probably stay at the club but only because of the amount of signings we will need to make elsewhere.

To be fair…there are SIX up front who (in Championship games) have contributed 58 goals and 36 assists between them.

That’s quite some performance for just ONE of them to stand out in the POTS vote.

Whenever called upon, all have delivered, with perhaps only Piroe having gone off the boil. Crysencio has looked a touch jaded; I’m hoping he comes back fully firing after this break.

It’s an important shout but without Giorgio’s 16 assists and so many of them being crucial, where would we be in the table?

So if I’m being 100% honest, I believe it’s impossible to separate the five from each other for their performance. I would hand the trophy to Daniel Farke while those 5 boys from the list above hoist him up above their heads 🏆

Maybe Archie can sit on his shoulders.

If pushed, I’m going to go for Crysencio, because he was the one who initially really got us up and firing this season and all believing we could do it.

By the way, maybe Archie has become the new Stuart Dallas for us this season?

Midfield, right back, left back, and even mooted to be a stand in for Giorgio if he doesn’t make the Watford game?

Be interesting to see whether Paddy's goal is voted MOTD goal of the season, we all know it is but will it admissible because it isn't a league goal.

How many clean sheets has Meslier had now?

Written off before season started, Darlow was going to be number 1, we wouldnt be top without Meslier.

I think most people would point to the remarkable presence of Rodon and Ampadu ahead of him and say that in the majority of games since the turn of the year he hasn't had to do an awful lot, but I agree what he has done has been mostly first class.

He is still a little shaky with his distribution however and the sending off blots his copy book somewhat.

He remains far from the finished article and prior to our recent fine run some of the goals we conceded, he should have done a lot better with.

On the Darlow point, I think he was bought to offer competition or back-up but Meslier was still seen as the number one, the one holding the position, as is often the case, nothing in Darlow's playing history indicates he was ever a regular starter.

A team would need to have had a very poor season for their keeper to be named as player of the season, I am sure you are just arguing Meslier's case but I have no recollection of any keeper winning the award.

Bamford, our recent run of form has coincided with Bamford finding his range and Farke realising that he is best striker at the club by a country mile.
Piroe, apart from his goals does next to nothing, big question mark about whether we could have spent the money more wisely.
Gnonto, kept out of the starting 11 initially because of questions about his attitude, then Dan James' form, since James' injury, starting ahead of James. Could argue that as Summerville fades he is providing the dynamism and helping drive the team forward. Scoring a lot of goals at the moment. Big fan.
Gruev doesn't make the list because he didn't make the starting 11 until Farke's hand was forced by Struijk's injury, I wonder whether we would have ever have seen Ampadu drop back into defence if Struijk was fit, would we still have only seen five or six minutes of Gruev at the end of games.
Meslier, see Jonty's comment (I largely agree with him even though I have made a counter argument).
Kamara, I think you are wrong about Glen, he doesn't do the glamour stuff but I think there are games where he has been silky smooth in midfield. He just needs to learn to shoot. Add the odd goal.

My point is it's all very subjective and there's and argument for putting everyone but the god awful Piroe in your POTS vote, even Firpo has played his part.

On Rutter, in the Championship in 2024 he has created the most chances in open play (26), made the most successful take-ons (42), won the most duals (118), played the most through balls (13) and won the most fouls (33) of any player.

I am sure there are other stats out there evidencing that other players are having a better year, goals perhaps.
