Watched an MLS game last night and very similar attacking team with possession when ref stops for a defender clattered by his own keeper and the drop ball goes to the defending team - WTF?

A really bizarre rule? So all you need now is for a defender to go down fake an injury and your keeper immediately gets the ball in his hand
