Man City: Vicious Bullies

Hard to disagree with any of this, their action this week is an embarrassment.

Have five stars.

I tell you what, why don't we all take a leaf out of Man City's book? Let's all just refuse to pay our council tax because we don't agree with it.

Forget everyone else who pays, we don't like it or really think it's a sensible expense- so let's just ignore it and not pay.

Council want to take action against us do they? OK well we will just sue them to delay the whole thing.

In the history of our game, no team has ever tried to sue the EPL because they've been caught cheating on 115 different charges.

It makes my blood boil.

You gonna dish out any very severe consequences?

The only way to rectify this is to return all the medals stolen from Liverpool & Arsenal pronto.

They should be relegated to League 2 and pay 1 billion fines to other affected clubs.

What I never get in a situation like this is that the league aren't preventing them from doing anything in a legal sense. They are merely laying down their own rules and City have the choice over whether to sign up or not.

I mean, telling teams their players aren't allowed to handle the ball or are only allowed 11 players on the pitch surely isn't legally binding either but it is the rules of the league they sign up to. Surely this alone would make it hard for City to win this case.

Let alone the fact that they are claiming letting them spend what they wish would somehow make things more competitive!

the league should just tell them to obey or leave, they are not forced to play in any English FA competition they can leave whenever they want.

The suing for damages on lost income is ridiculous as well considering these are rules that they implicitly agreed to by not opting to leave the PL when they were outvoted on them being agreed.

It's like how when customers seek compensation for "lost income" that they apparently would've made if they didn't spend that time on the phone resolving a complaint with a company. It's just ridiculous.

It's like that moment in court when Ted Bundy was found guilty. He started lashing out insisting the jury were wrong.

The EPL must relegate City.

City whinging about the 'tryanny of the majority' lol. They might as well just say we dont want to follow the agreed rules, we want to do what we want

They have absolutely no defence and crucially the Premier League don't really have anything to lose by punishing them. Usually cases like this are an act of self-harm to a model long seen as the greatest football competition in the world. Normally if the best team in the league gets severely punished, you'd argue the league itself gets affected by the fallout but in an age where the same club has won six out of last seven leagues, seeing them knocked off their perch brings some much needed excitement back to a competition that has seen a decrease in fan appetite such is its predictability. Sure, it means we might not have a CL winner for a while but does that really matter. If the Premier League becomes as predictable as La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A, it'll drop in popularity. If it drops in popularity, the best players won't come here anyway so unless you get to grips with the competitiveness of the Premier League itself as the premium brand in world football, you won't win the CL anyway.

I'll be honest, if City do get away with this on account of some slippery lawyer work, I'll back Arsenal next year to win the league. Forget the North London rivalry, the integrity of the game is far more important.

This is beyond being utter tosh.

Games/matches are won/lost by the players ON THE PITCH.

League titles are won by the best players/squads.

Cup competitions are a little different in terms of the eventual winners, but the games matches are, again, won/lost by the players ON THE PITCH.

The players (at any team/club) have very little (if not zilch) to do with the administration of a club.

Penalising them, despite their individual and collective achievements, is just wrong. Plain and simple.

It's also unfair, unjust, stupid and pathetic - and many other negative outcomes.

By all means deal with corruption in the way an organisation is administered. But don't punish the players that achieved what they achieved ON THE PITCH and did so without any hint of a culture of cheating on that pitch.

All-in-all the original post this rant responds to is beyond pathetic and stupid
