This is beyond being utter tosh.

Games/matches are won/lost by the players ON THE PITCH.

League titles are won by the best players/squads.

Cup competitions are a little different in terms of the eventual winners, but the games matches are, again, won/lost by the players ON THE PITCH.

The players (at any team/club) have very little (if not zilch) to do with the administration of a club.

Penalising them, despite their individual and collective achievements, is just wrong. Plain and simple.

It's also unfair, unjust, stupid and pathetic - and many other negative outcomes.

By all means deal with corruption in the way an organisation is administered. But don't punish the players that achieved what they achieved ON THE PITCH and did so without any hint of a culture of cheating on that pitch.

All-in-all the original post this rant responds to is beyond pathetic and stupid

I suppose Juve didn’t deserve their punishments either…

I think the key is that if they were able to assemble that group of players through foul means, then of course those trophies should be scrubbed from the records. The players have still got their moments and medals to look back on but will also know that the circumstances that brought them together were illegitimate

While he is being a bit they kinda have a point, but that point makes the decision to act like this so much stranger.

Previously City have just gone under the radar cos of mass amounts of apathy, no-one really cares if they win cos most people don't actively think about the human rights side of it, or the financial doping, they just think they're a bit boring and they don't know any City fans in person.

With this move though they're basically putting a target on their own back and dragging the masses out from apathy to active disdain.

Players on the pitch that shouldn't have been because City couldn't afford to put them on the pitch and follow the rules.

All of those other teams are the rightful winners. Unfortunate for the City players that went there but they got the bank balance, that won't be taken. They felt the emotion, they can have all that, they can even keep the medals if we're feeling soft.

The titles should not read Manchester City when the guilty verdicts arrive.
