Vic
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr Bissouma Maddison
Brennan Richy Son
team picks itself currently imo. Hopefully we sign a RW and CF before the end of the window
yeah i think Sarr and BJ only question marks there until we sign someone else
No starts for Gray, Bergvall or Moore?
Back five as you say picks itself..
Id have Gray/Bergvall alongside bentancur and madds. A midfield with good technical ability but also decent pressing ability.
If we want to be slightly more offensive at home then bergvall, more defensive away then Gray.
Up front is where we are sadly lacking.
Would have to be son (left), Richy and Johnson if all were fit. Not a big fan of Richy to be honest but he'll give us a bit better balance and help out defensively with set pieces.
Have to say this window is not going how I thought on the purchasing front. I expected a quality winger and CF but neither has arrived 3 weeks prior to season start.
I forgot all about Bentancur!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moore hasn't started a senior game yet, he's barely played in the U21s even. people need to be realistic with their expectations.
Ditto with Bergvall, only 18, coming from a much weaker league. needs time to settle and adjust. Very much a prospect - he's 3 years younger than Veliz and nobody would expect him to start for us.
Gray is more interesting because he's already played a lot of football at a good level, is clearly physically ready, and has done so well in pre season. but he's done well at CB - he's only played about 20 minutes in midfield for us and those were his worst 20 minutes for us, making a mistake that led to a goal.

Moore? mf not even 17 yet
Gray and Udogie would be very poor fits at wing back. Gray is a centre mid turned fullback, he isn't a touchline hugger who will throw crosses into the box.
Udogie is the same way, wants to come inside and play one twos and get into the box. don't think he played a single cross for us all season, or even a single lofted pass. wants to keep the ball on the floor
arent neither of our full backs touchline huggers and isnt that the point?
exactly, but if you play a back 5 then the wingbacks would become the width providers
oh right yeah i wasnt entertaining the 5 at the back

Didn’t stop Barca from playing Yamal
Moore will get minutes for sure
there's a reason why Yamal playing when he's so young is such a story, it's very rare. Should not at all be the expectation for Mikey, very unfair. hopefully he gets some Europa league and Cup minutes
We came 5th last year and were nowhere in the cups playing a rigid 4231 with little tactical flexibility... Perhaps we could try something different this year... we might improve. It's not like we are gonna spend 250mln quid this summer on 5 class players.
Spurs have lots of good players, Im more interested in seeing some tactical flexibility from Ange giving youngsters game time than I am in splashy signings
out of the 3 id say Gray has best chance of getting in first XI with the price tag and minutes under his belt at in competitive league
think we play more of a 433

rigid we're one of the most fluid teams in the league, to a fault you could argue.
maybe instead of changing tact every season it's time to actually give a manager some time

If Moore is out playing the player in his position than I certainly won’t be saying don’t start him just because of his age.
let's maybe see him start a competitive game of football before we start talking about him outplaying anyone

I meant rigid in that we played the same way all the time regardless of the situation in the game or the opposition (high line, acres of space behind the FBs etc). I dont have any problem with Ange and his attacking principles, just seems to me that we have a squad with options to have a bit more flexibility.
3 excellent CBs, FBs in Porro, Udogie (and perhaps Gray) who are great going forward and comfortable in Midfield and lots of attacking players who I think could be interchangeable in mulktiple positions.... Esp guys like Madders, Son, Bergvall (from the limited stuff Ive seen, Kulu, GLC, Sarr etc.
I honestly think Spurs are a CF short of having a very good & balanced squad. I know he's 28 with no real resale value but Toney is big u/g on Richie and Eze would be a dream signing both for now and as a long term replacement for Son.
Liverpool, Arsenal, City are the teams we're aspiring to reach right - they're not changing formations every other week
