11.5 days to save the season

Reports that Leeds pushing for Lubjancic now and he's told the club he wants to join. Seems like this'll happen but not in a hurry. Also claimed that Sunderland demand 25 mil for Clarke.

I'd throw 25 mill for Clarke. Obviously the club didnt think anyone would trigger Rutter's release clause.
Club shouldn't be a giant piggy bank. Replace him.
Or at least replace Cree.

Unfortunately its all third choice players now as left it all too late, no hint whatsoever in terms on there having been any recruitment strategy at all.

The Monet out of playoffs should have been lining up the next players having already had discussions with Farke for what he left we needed in still in Championship losing his 3 best players which was surely a foregone conclusion with these owners.

Jonty, I wonder if the 49ers have botched this so far because of a level of 'big club' arrogance. So many
have said this season the Championship is weaker.

And yet, so far at least, Burnley and Sheff U are getting
their transfer work done no problem. Several players
we were linked with, ended up at those two clubs.

Feels like we're fumbling around again just like last season despite being told thats why we failed last season.

The Monet, Jonty? I think were more the Salvador Dali team of the championship.

Sorry I can't remember who it was that posted on here a few days ago that the signs coming from our owners are that of a regime that doesn't want to get promoted this season similar to Ken Bates ownership model quite happy to rinse the club regularly and steadily.

They were shot down for suggesting this and rather harshly called an idiot but if by the time the transfer window closes we also see Gnonto leave and the incoming players are not much to get excited about then you have to wonder how serious our owners are and just want to make big profits off all these player exits for themselves and their investors and announce some bs reason for being thwarted with their targets and expect the supporters to swallow it.

The Red Bull saviours in the background hopefully are
just that and our silver lining but not until next season when they will be ready to take the reigns when these waste of timers finally scarper......or I've got that completely wrong and some exciting amazing new signings are about to enter the fray and we'll romp the league...this club doesn't half put us through the ringer imagining all sorts!

Probably.

Either you know, or you don't know. Which? 🤷‍♂️
How does 'probably' add anything.

I've heard he hasn't. But I'm not going to argue with you cos I don't know.

Pretty much every season we do the same.

You can predict it:

Fans say Championship will be weaker
Fans say we'll walk it
Player after player leaves
We get some loanees and foreign players no one has ever heard of w they must be good because they were at Barcelona B team once
Fans say there is always the loan market
Fans say there is always January
Fans say there's a great player in the under 12s

Meanwhile, every other team manages to strengthen, the teams that come down a couple of them are right at top of table the teams that come up 1 of them is at top of table, last years play off teams are back up there.......all of this except Leeds who just make it so hard for themselves.

Keep our players and add and I'd say we go up.

Sell our top three and replace with 6 decent players and I say we go up, it's not rocket science.

We should be massive pull in this division due to ground, training facilities, size of crowd home and away, history and most importantly revenue, money available.

You have to be a complete idiot to screw it up time after time.

We have a window of 2/3 seasons before parachute money disappears and its even harder for us, to he ineptitude which has seen us sell our best players, which NONE of us are really surprised at, but failed to even half replace is potentially going to set us back years.

I'm 60, almost half of my supporting life has seen is in second or third term such has been the impact of going down (8 years to get back up after Revie years and 16 years to get back up after Ridsdale years).

We have no divine right to be in Prem but fact that everyone wants us there, everyone says we're a massive club yet we continually labour to get any sort of promotion (how many play offs that we failed every time etc) shows some real serial mismanagement of this club and I dont see any different from 49ers.

They have sporting background, so much money behind them allegedly its not true AND been involved with club for so many years now AND have seen what is needed to get promotion, you'd think we'd be in safe hands, but it feels anything but, it feels like another bunch of chancer making a mint out of us after they'e charged all their travel and hotel costs to the Leeds United expense account.

You think the 49ers have got all these multimillionaire investors involved, promising them that returns will be earned when we've cemented ourselves in the Premiership, and get into Europe....

... but no, they purposely arranged for us to stay in the Championship
🙄🤔🤦🏼

well sure seems that way.
they're doing a fantastic job if this was the case, otherwise they could slot in a couple of rungs below bates.

I think bates wanted us to stay down, he was making money, didnt want to spend a lot and not be guaranteed of going up, remember going 2nd after beating QPR I think it was and there was zero investment to push us on.

I just think these current owners simply dont know football despite them being involved for years, Kinnear being involved for even longer and yet they appear utterly naive at best.

The 49ers right now, so far, are doing a bang up job of treading water. No way this squad (and I'm half laughing
calling this collection a squad), gets promoted.

Is there time to fix things? Sure. Is that time draining
away quickly? Absolutely. It feels like the club havent
learned from last season. We got cocky and completely
effed up the January window while others strengthened.

And it looks eerily similar today with 11/12 daysleft this
window. My faith is all but gone. Talk is great for sound bites. What we need is action in the form of players.

If this doesn't happen, why didnt it happen?

The person who floated the notion that the 49ers
would like us to remain in the Championship
might not be spot on. However, them doing things
on the cheap, in a tough league, again, doesnt
help dispel the idea.

Pull your fcking fingers out and sign some quality.

The 49ers are treating the fans with utter contempt.

They'll wait until deadline day, last hour. Then act like
they're heroes. Meanwhile the club will have burned
weeks where they could have been gelling as a team.

Smashing.

posted on 19/8/24

I dont think they are trying to it on the cheap.

They have just totally fooked up on the contracts and it has absolutely killed us over two seasons.

posted on 19/8/24

You don't think those millionaires who've put money into the 49ers Leeds United investment plan aren't asking the 49ers the same questions we are, but from an entirely different perspective?

"What's going on here? We're supposedly going up to the EPL, don't look like it to us! Etc etc.

and... those people will have direct access to the boardroom.

They know they're under pressure to deliver.

comment by Batty (U4664)

Or, at board level/investor level they know the whole
story re contracts. And the financial hole we were in.

Maybe the board are not actively trying to stay in the
Championship. Maybe they know short term pain will better insure long term gain. Maybe they've decided
its prudent to put us on a better financial footing now.
As that puts us in a stronger position for the long haul.

Or they're fcking useless at this and are finding that out the hard way. Along with us the fans. Who knows?

The point I go on to make is below, read on further before being such a pedant. He probably does have a release clause that hasn't been triggered but like Rutter's it may be time related. It's called moving the conversation on.

Rutters date specific release clause was to supposedly allow time to find a replacement before end of window, utterly naive idiots.

I get the frustration and timing of contracts/ decisions between owners is open to debate, fact is we will never know……

I am with LIW I genuinely cannot believe anyone would say the owners wouldn’t want promotion, simply breathtaking…….

Like most not sure on terms of contract but relegation clause I understand was from last year….. might be wrong……

I seem to remember some on here saying after relegation we would be lucky to get £5million for Rutter, now we are outraged at a clause selling him on for £40million. To think we could renegotiate a £60m release clause after relegation is just naive.

We have rich owners who have to play within the rules…… On paper Newcastle should be able to buy success what have their transfer plans been like if money is no object?

What has Farke ever done for Leeds United in one season? Erm got 90 points……

Totally agree massive 11 days for this great club

But like being said here, time is running out and Koln are hoping Leeds will up their offer before the window closes!..

Wonder whether Kebab is going to do this as a ticking clock, it cannot have escaped anyone's notice that, as from ull and back points out, there is now no longer 11.5 days left to save the season.
