There we go. Cards on the table.
Who wrote the religious texts then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why you waste your time like this? You know who it is claimed wrote them. If you have a point to make them just do so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people are too set in their way that they’ll never question why are we here, life really can’t be we’re born, we die the end. And then also look at the universe itself, why is everything so perfectly placed, can something so perfect happen by chance or is there a designer for all of this. It’s ok to ask these questions rather than have an ignorant view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least you are asking the questions.
Some people seem to have accepted that everything in the universe came from evolution and that that makes more sense that creationism, which is ree tarded to me.
Maybe planets evolve from a speck of dust, but then again, what did the speck of dust evolve from? And where did whatever the speck of dust evolve from evolve from? And where did that thing that evolved to form the thing that evolved to form a speck of dust evolve from?
And so on.

Because you decided to debate this, and have repeatedly not answered simple questions , because it faces your whole viewpoint (or you are rdd, in which I’m out)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which viewpoint is this? I'm not advocating religion, I'm challenging you on your views.
Why are you unable to grasp this despite me repeating it? You want to force views on me to defend religion because me being religious is the only way to defend your claims? That's just stoopid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And like a broken record, I’m telling you that you can pick any religion and you will not find any of them written by a god, but by a man, thousands of years ago, and they will give you commandments to live your life by. These commandments are the work of a human. The players protesting against seeing a stupid armband are protesting in the scripture written by a few blokes 2000 years ago, likely for their own aims to control society (or if your cynical, money, - look at the wealth of the Vatican). There’s no god in any of this.
And yet still not a shred of proof there is one.
I’m not repeating this again, because if I have to you are clearly to thick to use logic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Forget religion and stand up for what you're acting saying? Defend your position instead of attacking religion. I'm not pushing religion here. I just find some of your claims as bad or worse than religion.
Imagine just believing that evolution is an origin story because some people said so, even thought the theory itself doesn't actually explain the origin of anything at all.

I’m not even attacking organised religion. I’m just pouting out how absolutely flawed it is and does not stand up to criticism.
And evolution is about the only thing we have to explain origins- something that minds greater than ours looking for proof have agreed upon and found proof, more than any proof for god (is there any at all?) I mean, vs the religious argument it’s like putting peak Mike Tyson in ring with Noddy holding a wand that’ll do fack all when needed. Because it’s just a stick and there’s no magic.
You are trying to get away from the point, again. These players are basically protesting about wearing an armband that will do nothing to them, on beliefs written by a few blokes a few thousand years ago.
On that, I’m out of this nonsenses

Some of these atheists make less sense than religious folk and make people stick with religion.
They think they can come out with half baked theories and no one will question them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly this. Some people, when confronted with concepts like microorganisms not existing at the time of the Big Bang, seem to completely miss the point.
What’s ironic is that many atheists, as demonstrated here, are no more thoughtful or nuanced than the religious folks they ridicule. Their dismissal of religious beliefs as “fairy tales” mirrors the oversimplifications of those who claim atheists believe everything came from nothing.
What’s even more telling is the closed-mindedness displayed by some atheists in this thread. They seem unwilling to engage in meaningful dialogue or have their views challenged. And when their perspectives are questioned, they often appear to crumble rather than respond thoughtfully. It’s a clear reminder that open-mindedness and intellectual humility are essential, no matter where you stand on these issues.
What’s even more telling is how, when the atheists here bring up points and are asked to defend them, they often avoid doing so. Instead, they deflect by demanding religious folks defend their views, rather than addressing the flaws or gaps in their own worldview. This reveals their beliefs are built on a house of sand—they can’t robustly defend them when challenged. They're all about shifting the burden of proof after making their own claims.
It’s especially funny because it’s the exact critique they throw at religious people: that their beliefs are indefensible. In reality, they mirror the very behavior they ridicule. It is not surprising as many lay Athiests don't think they have a viewpoint that ever need questioning.

I'm sorry sir, but if you cancel creationism and then when asked for an alternative, you put forward evolution. You have freely criticised and dismissed the religious , but look how you act when confronted on your own proposition? The posters defending religion have reacted in a more balanced way when questioned whereas you ridicule the questions challenging your view, dismiss posters and act like a baby.
Again, I'm not supporting religion, I'm questioning evolution being put forward by you as a viable alternative when it doesn't even attempt to explain the origin of things. Believing that evolution explains the origins is more nutty than religion because evolution doesn't even propose any originating theories for the existence of anything. Everything in the evolution theory commences with something else that is already in existence and that's massive lacunae no matter how hard people like you try to ignore it.

Didn’t have you down as a religious whack job, but duly noted
Has anyone decided where God came from yet?
I find it a lot easier to believe that microorganisms formed and evolved over billions of years into what we know now, than the 5,500 year old musings of some Egyptians who decided that was the opportune moment to first document that a fully formed being suddenly appeared with the power to create those microorganisms, but also a couple of humans, a snake and an apple tree.
Whilst ignoring the existence of everything proven to have been in existence for billions of years prior to those texts being written.
I dunno man, seems perfectly logical that some dude threw a couple of humans together, an apple tree and a snake and formed a moral story. I mean, why wouldn't you do it that way?? Nobody else is there to learn the lesson of course but thats a minor detail.

=====
If I can ask, formed and evolved from what? Can anyone answer that question?
Did the material that formed and evolved into what we know now just pop into existence?
Also, why would that be easier to believe when it's exactly the same thing as what religion says?

Or maybe some dude threw out some primordial soup or black goo (like in Prometheus) and that goo evolved over billions of years into what we know now.
Makes more sense than saying things evolved out of thin air over billions of years into what we know now.

Maybe. But I think there is a difference between the "creator" that you're describing, and some dude who decided to make people because he was bored or something, and then decided he was gonna make them burn for all eternity if they did something he didn't like, like sticking their willy in a man's bum.
Both possible I guess. One far more logical than the other though.
It is possible you are the only thing that exists, and everything around you, everything you experience, everything you see, feel, hear, touch, is just in your mind and you have created it. You may have lived for billions of years, but have created this life in your mind more recently. Maybe your reality is you are just floating in nothing.
Which means you created homosexuality, you created LGBTQ+, you created racism, you created bigotry, you created life and death, you created pain and suffering, you created Wolverhampton. Makes you feel bad about yourself doesn't it.

Ad hominem—classic. It's funny, though, because it proves my point. You make claims but can’t or won’t defend them, yet expect religious folks to jump through hoops to justify theirs. Shallow deflection isn’t exactly the intellectual high ground you think it is.

I wonder what it is that makes you see it as a viable explanation for the origin of things. Most stoopid thing I ever heard.

Did evolution happen? Yes. Does that explain the origin of things? No.
