I am not Ange in or out. Any new manager will have the same problems, if he has to start four or five squad players in the Prem.
Nothing will change until the best players return. So not overly worried. It is what it is.
Not sure anyone is surprised. Happens every season, once a couple of first picks get injured. Results then are either draws or defeats.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is having VDV and Vicario back going to change anything? We've still conceded from set pieces with them playing. The more worrying aspect yesterday was how Bournemouth were far and away the most likely team to score while we were trailing 1 nil. Towards the end they had about 7 or 8 unanswered good chances to put the game to bed. This was despite after Ange looked to his bench to try and get us back in the game.
You've got a manager with his attack minded philosophy and we're out attacked by Bournemouth, and not just them either, the likes of Ipswich and Palace.
Far too much is made about missing players. We still had Son, BJ, Solanke, Kulu, Madders, Sarr, Porro playing. We're still an inconsistent team whoever plays.
Why should Spurs be expected to get to a final?? That would suggest that you are in the top 2,3 or 4 teams in the country which you are clearly not and never really have been. Same applies for top 4 obviously.
BUT 6th place will likely get top 4 this season due to 5th place getting top 4 from European performance by other English teams and City getting points deducted at the end of the season.
Top 4 isn't where Spurs SHOULD be. You do extremely well to get top 4 when you do. That's overachieving.
You should be satisfied being around 5th or 6th. Quarter finals of the cups would also be your level.
Romero and VDV are losses for how we attack but we've had some stinkers with them playing too, i dont think the defence has been the problem at all in recent games
Forster probably been our best player lol

Son and Porro started on the bench due to being jaded. Definitely is the case with Porro playing too many games.
Sarr is 22 and still learning.
The players in and around them aren’t good enough or are still developing.
Even a past it Davies going off left us short even further. The inexperienced Gray has played so many positions already in his first season because the squad is so lacking.
I think he should get until the end of the season or until we are out of the cups. Either way though, he should not be managing us next year unless he won a Europa/FA cup - then I might give him another year.
I would rather wait though, Bournemouths manager Iraola is exactly who we need - I get strong early days Poch vibes from him. He will improve our younger players, shore up the defence and keep us ticking over up top.

Of course things won't be as bad with most of the best players back, and they may concede from set pieces. But the general team play will improve.
There is a reason players are first picks, and others are reserve squad players. They are simply better players.
Take say Saka, Odegaard, their goalie and two CBs out of their team for say six weeks all at the same time, and results will dip. Same for all other teams.

Ange In 100%
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what?
I think Ange is limited - only one way of playing and makes horrendous decisions with line ups - I said yesterday he sucked the momentum out of the team after we beat City by making too many changes.
In his defence though - this squad is as per usual under ENIC, severely lacking. Our 2 best CBs are the new Ledley King in form and health and Romero who can’t concentrate in a Spurs shirt and loves getting injured on international duty. Son looks finished to me, impact sub player now. Maddison is infuriating, all the potential in the world but has too many games where he doesn’t show up. We have Richy who can’t stay fit despite not playing, Dragusin who is ill suited to our high line, Timo Werner who is not actually a footballer and no cover at left back that the manager will actually pick.
Out of the youngsters we have, the future overall is bright - Moore and Gray look the business, Vuskovic is starting to look generational - already the Belgian leagues best defender at just 17. Odobert - looks good the mins we have seen of him but I’m worried he is another sick note. Bergvall - I don’t get the hype, he excels at nothing, he looks like the Swedish Harry Winks to me. Hyuk - difficult to judge.
I could see another manager getting more out of this squad. I could see another manager getting this squad through the Xmas period without falling apart through injury or tiredness.
I think wait until the summer and then give Iraola what he wants to come and manage here - I like him a lot
Celtic supporter.....don't think he's ever been sacked before......I might be wrong.. unbelievable in his line of work
He looks to me like "dead man walking". Only a cup success can save him methinks

He is a bit limited which is fine, but when you add his arrogance too, not so much, he’s not new now, he’s had a season and a half, and he needs to do better,
And yes we can point to the players, but it’s HIS job to motivate/scare/threaten them to perform.

Even then, it don’t hold much truck with Levy. Don’t forget he sacked Jose 6 days before the league cup final with us sat 6th in the league.
If Chelsea slap us on Sunday like they usually do then he could be gone by Monday morning and miss the trip up to Ibrox.

I don’t think he is the right man long term, I just don’t think we will gain much by sacking him before the summer. I don’t fancy any of the managers out of work - they will either be new to the league or ex Chelsea - both a recipe for disaster with us.
I’d rather lump this season, go for broke in the cups and then bring Iraola in.
It has to be pointed out though, the squad is lacking. It is Enics fault, not because they don’t spend enough but because they never commit to a strategy.
If Luka asks though, I am staying humble - he is dreaming if he thinks Ange is getting 3 more windows though - he will be lucky to make Jan
Many factors come to the fore here. Firstly and most importantly the team is completely shot. Easy to blame the manager at every opportunity but we have had 6/7 managers in
the past 6 years including care taker managers and nothing changes. That should ring alarm bells. Getting Potter or "loose 6 games in a row Guardiola" wont make any difference.
Playing way too many games and the energy, confidence and zip is gone from the team. Kulu barely able to muster any energy yesterday was a sad sight to see. Its the reality irrespective of the millions they earn!
Like it or not Injuries have taken its toll. This team reminds me of Spurs during the Poch era.. Top 15/16 players ok but then once you loose a few key players you are scratching the surface for key replacements.
Our squad depth is embarrassingly average.
Some players not good enough. For me its a non negotiable. If you are poor on the ball you should not be wearing a Spurs shirt. We have too many ok players BJ, Solanke, Werner , Drag, Rich etc who can do a job
but don't scream quality. When you compare similar players with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea , Pool etc we are clearly playing catchup. This one is with Levy. The recruitment has been a bit slap dash.
Spending shy of 50 mill on 2 youngsters who are not 1st team ready particularly after last years injury crisis is a joke.
Another bug bare of mine watching this team over the years is the lack of physicality, being too nice not winning 50-50s..And this is going back to Poch days too.Drives me mad.
Again, this is partly coaching but mainly recruitment. It should be another prerequisite as part of our scouting. Some of our players couldn't tackle their way out of a paper bag!
Ange - Quit feeling sorry for yourself as its drifts down to the players. Have a plan B based on players you have available.
Levy OUT- Am afraid he employs all these people coupled with the clubs strategy and vision. We now have cash to compete but sadly its not being properly utilised.

Don’t agree about the youngsters - Archie Gray should be playing week in week out - the fact he isn’t is on Ange. That kid should be sat in our midfield already, learning and rotating with Sarr, Biss and Bentancur.
Moore should be starting over Werner, who has to be the biggest waste of time going, he offers diddly faaack all.
Agree on the overall squad, we seriously lack quality outside of Kulu and when he is on it Maddison. Solanke and BJ are absolutely fine, BJ is our top scorer, it’s what he does. Solanke runs his bollox off and helps the team with the pressing. It’s the left side of the attack that has completely died - time has caught up with Son, he should be an impact sub

Well that’s the key isn’t it. When Ange was under the gun earlier in the season, I went to the next game against Brentford and it was clear as day the players were still behind him and put in a good performance. After the Ipswich debacle they then battered Man Cuty and it was clear they were still behind him.
Let’s see what we get against Chelsea, I think he will have to avoid defeat in that one to keep his job - the ground will be toxic on Sunday if we get beat

No idea how it goes against us... 3/4 weeks ago I was saying you destroy us cos you have pace up top that will kill us.
But you have become far more in consistent over the last 6 weeks or so (more than before) and our form has picked up a bit (we have actually been far better in europe this year than domestically)
You will still be big favourites for the game and rightly so but Im less fearful than I was before.

Ange IN for me.
