re Levy, it's clear he has taken the eye off the ball on the pitch with building the infrastructure and decisions made by everyone involved over the years have been poor at key times. what he has built off the pitch and landing some really top players over the years, has been his downfall in the expectations built and also the prices charged mean that you should be allowed to expect to at least not be outfought most weeks these days

the difference with Klopp and Arteta though was the key signings to improve the first team were made and steady progress, if not small early on, was there. it's difficult to see that so far and gamble on the club being able to do that again in the summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do Spurs fans think that they are better this under Ange or better last season? Is the club progressing, thats him been there 1.5 years now. What direction do you think the club is going under his charge?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i think we probably started last season too well which was an anomaly, as other than that we have been consistently inconsistent
not sure how he finds more consistency but he needs to otherwise he will be rightly sacked

I am very much Ange in.
This is a rebuild so everyone just needs to strap themselves in.
As long as we don't get relegated I feel like it is a free hit this season. Add a couple of players in January to steady the ship a little and hopefully we can have a really big summer and get some real quality in positions where Ange needs.
I love our football style, we just need consistency and we will only get that by the players learning how to adapt to Ange's style and recruitment so that we have a squad that can play at a high level week in week out and for that you need a good few windows. It was never going to happen in one window, this is not fantasy football.
Like Ange says we have also invested in a number of youngers that will hopefully bear fruit in the not too distant future.
Results and performances have been frustrating at times and we are going through a bad patch at the moment with a number of players out, playing Chelsea I fear it will only get worse at the weekend.
I just hope for once Levy holds his nerve and doesn't pull the trigger. We need to see this through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you like the guy's use of the current squad...
BJ out on the left wing yesterday first half...totally lost?
Sarr in midfield going nowhere?
Kulusevski trying to make a go of things all on his own...
Solenke with no service trying to find a ball to kick?
Dragusin losing his man missing th e incoming ball and his man gets it...1-0!
You like the high line with everyone in the Bournemouth half and they can run faster than us?
And all the late subs trying to play catch up?
God only knows what he said to the team at Halftime....because they came out second half and did nothing differently! Commentators commented on that!
You like it?
I don't.

obviously hypothetical and worry about that if it comes to it, but would you get a new guy in if we finish 10th with no trophy come end of the season, burghandy?
think thats where im at, need to see if he can pick up this season and end it with something positive to come out of it before pulling the trigger. would need to be out of the all the cups and getting totally battered every other week for me to really think he should go before end of the season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like that may happen!
Agree he ha s injuries to worry about.
But yesterday was a shambles.
Give the squad to Mason for the rest of the season?
With the right players I don't see why Ange Ball wouldn't work. Porro flatters to deceive. Udogie struts around and stands off players (like walker does, arrogantly believing he has pace to burn....then udogie got skinned by Kluivert) Biss is not intelligent enough, Sarr is not able to dominate matches. I could go on, but all opinions. They are good footballers and on their day do some serious damage. But consistency is a mental thing. Arsenal are seriously strong mentally. City used to be. You can just sense the spurs players not in a game mentally from the kick off. Personally, I'd stop this inverted full backs malarkey, get them bombing on overlaps instead, get the fecking ball in the box more often and stop this constant moving the ball around and backwards. At the moment we are not good enough with the ball, don't create enough chances, give away stupid yellows nearly every game and can't maintain any levels of consistency. Whether this can be blamed at the manager or not is hard to state. Healthier squad numbers, Micky VdV back and maybe we'd look better in the way we play, who knows.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are we building towards though? Relegation?
We're looking for progress now seeing as we're in the second full season of Ange's reign and we're not seeing any. We won't get as high a position as last season and we won't get as high a points total in all likelihood. 6 losses so far and we've just entered December. We had our 6th lost last season by mid Feb. If we don't win anything then we have well and truly gone backwards as a club. Even the free flowing football isn't very common, a lot of the time it's possession without creating many chances, while our opponents out-create us.
People try to compare with Arteta and his slow rebuild but he was at least making progress a little bit at a time. Won an FA Cup to begin with, finished 8th again second season but with an increase of points, then finished 5th with a further increase in points.
Ange does not compare favourably to any recent Spurs manager who has had more than a season at the club.

Spurs are the 6th biggest club in England. Here is their finishing position in the PL the past 14 years
2023/24: 5th
2022/23: 8th
2021/22: 4th
2020/21: 7th
2019/20: 6th
2018/19: 4th
2017/18: 3rd
2016/17: 2nd
2015/16: 3rd
2014/15: 5th
2013/14: 6th
2012/13: 5th
2011/12: 4th
2010/11: 5th
2009/10: 4th
Only twice in 14 years have they not exceeded expectation in terms of league position. 10 times out of 14 they HAVE exceeded expectation, twice meeting expectations.
Spurs have been doing better than they should be.
Spurs aren't even in the top 20 biggest teams in Europe, yet they have the best stadium. They have seen some of the best players in world football play for their club over the past 14 years or so.
Should Hotspur fans be the MOST satisfied out of any club in world football with how they are run and how they are doing out of any club in football history?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
only three teams in world football have spent more on players over the last 5 years than Spurs have
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only most if not all top teams in the world have actually won more than Spurs in the last 15 years...who knew
I have never called for a manager to be sacked and I won`t be starting with Ange, our problem is (and always will be until they leave) Levy & ENIC.
Changing the manager will achieve nothing in the long term under these parasitic owners, we may as well give Ange time and a proper crack at it.
We have seen how good Ange ball can be, we just need consistency, unfortunately I don`t think Ange will ever get the required level and size of squad to make it happen.
The misery of ENIC will continue on Levy`s roundabout of incompetence and horrendous decision making, the stadium will be full (as proper fans are gradually replaced with tourists and happy clappers) and ENIC will continue to make a huge amount of money.
Levy out.
No point changing the manager as far as I’m concerned. No other manager that would come to spurs could do any better. We don’t have any elite players, this squad is where it is. Buying gray and bergvall instead of Neto and eze, dragusin instead of topsoba, solan or instead of oshimen, etc etc.
Enic are the problem. Levy is the problem. Doesn’t matter how many times you change the manager.

I agree, I said when levy let poch go after little backing then replacing with Jose it should be his last throw of the dice. Here we are 3 managers later having the same conversations we were then.
Enic need to go and we need a change of mentality at the top, a real change of brand. Like when city were taken over, so potentiom joiners can see we will pay good money and are ambitious.
At the moment when pitching for players out history over the past 25 years speaks volumes. We don't pay the wages for top players and we win nothing.
An overhaul is needed for sure, starting at the top.
Could you imagine our defence yesterday in that 2nd half against a Bayern, Madrid, Barca etc. it could honestly have been double figures against. That's how far we've fallen.

And yes we can point to the players, but it’s HIS job to motivate/scare/threaten them to perform.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think he is the right man long term, I just don’t think we will gain much by sacking him before the summer. I don’t fancy any of the managers out of work - they will either be new to the league or ex Chelsea - both a recipe for disaster with us.
I’d rather lump this season, go for broke in the cups and then bring Iraola in.
It has to be pointed out though, the squad is lacking. It is Enics fault, not because they don’t spend enough but because they never commit to a strategy.
If Luka asks though, I am staying humble - he is dreaming if he thinks Ange is getting 3 more windows though - he will be lucky to make Jan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m staying indifferent, just like our players!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that’s the key isn’t it. When Ange was under the gun earlier in the season, I went to the next game against Brentford and it was clear as day the players were still behind him and put in a good performance. After the Ipswich debacle they then battered Man Cuty and it was clear they were still behind him.
Let’s see what we get against Chelsea, I think he will have to avoid defeat in that one to keep his job - the ground will be toxic on Sunday if we get beat
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BJ is absolutely fine? The undroppable as someone coined him on here last night, non-existent. Our highest scorer but with tap ins, completely anonymous for the best part of every game. Never pulled up trees at Forest ('scuse the pun) and we paid £40 odd million on him. He and Richarlison of our current squad typify Tottenham signings over the years...average and forgettable

Second half he was back on the right and looking much better.
He's an asset for the club when used properly.
I want Poch back in a dream world. He is the reason Chelsea are doing so well and his injury crisis was far worse than ours. We know what he can do, he would harness our youngsters and it would buy ENIC time for the investment we know is coming.
Realistically i think someone like Edin Terzic, plays the youngsters, attacking football, and is in the budget we would pay.
The sad fact is after Monday we are competing with West Ham in the market for our next manager which is embarrasing.
If anyone is still Ange in the media hype has truly brainwashed you.

If being in the right place for a tap every now and again is all you want to think a player is good enough then fair enough. The guy offers nothing overall, no flair, no fight, doesn't get me out of my seat with excitement, doesn't beat his opponent, hell, he doesn't even attempt to take his opponent on? All this but he stays on the pitch?
This is by no means and direct attack on Johnson, I don't think others are good enough and Richarlison absolutely falls into that bracket, average. The crux of it is the amount of money we spend on these bang average players (imo).
Regards the injuries, it's a good excuse to use for our performances since the defeat to Chelsea last season, even a fully fit squad and we've still lost as many games as we have won and the overall performances for most of those games have been carp.
Ange won't change, he doesn't seem to set us up to play each team in isolation, it's just my way and that's it. When the stars are aligned every so often we look good but in the most, we're rubbish, no progression and I'd have expected to see it by now.
Forget the Manager, as a Gooner it’s Daniel Levy & ENIC I’m really keen to keep ! 🤣

the difference with Klopp and Arteta though was the key signings to improve the first team were made and steady progress, if not small early on, was there. it's difficult to see that so far and gamble on the club being able to do that again in the summer
