Of course I back the Chairman. He runs the club, and he isn`t selling I don`t think, so silly not to back him. Pointless saying Levy out, when there are no current buyers. I also always want the club to sign new players, if the right ones are available. But I don`t just want panic buys.

I remember hearing the night before Redknapp was sacked a news bulletin that said, "Harry Redknapp is definitely not getting fired".
What goes on behind behind closed doors, especially in this particular 'multi billion dollar enterprise' is something we the peasant punters are not worthy of being allowed to be in-the-know with. But surely Levy knows the liabilities that are at stake and has sent his scouts out months ago. It's just a matter of waiting...

indeed, if Levy and the board are intending to keep Ange why are they not helping him by getting players in through door from the 1st of Jan.
We don't need permanent signings either 2-3 experienced loanees will do (whatever the rules allow).
But no they will just sit on their hands until deadline day no doubt.

I don't know, it seems like it could be different this time. Like they genuinely believe what they say and want to give him time. If they wanted him out it could have happened after the Chelsea loss, when we fell to 11th in the league and had 1 win in 8. We know Levy has been cold enough to sack managers just before cup finals so there's little reason to think he couldn't have been ruthless with Ange if he wanted to be.

In terms of buying we need very decent back up at CB and a decent attacker, to add to the squad as a minimum, and probably a LB too so Spence can properly challenge Porro.
But if the sorts of players we want long term are not available, then we need to be clever. We tried to with Muani - which by the way, my son told me yesterday that PSG have loaned out too many players so could not loan Muani to Juve as agreed (or us) so that deal collapsed, and he is for sale but would be risk at £50m and a couple of meh seasons at PSG.
We did some good stuff when we got Deki & Bentnacur in and it made a huge difference to that season and they are now main stays, so hopefully a deal like this if such players are available, which is rarely the case in January.

Yeah because its that easy. Look at all the countless deals that have been done by 2nd January
We are talking about securing quality players that clubs will not want to lose mid season. Identifying a player that may be available is tough enough. But few clubs will entertain discussions about a player before the window and especially if it is a player they want to keep. Kinsky is the sort of player from the sort of club where £12.5m is too good to pass up and that deal was done quickly. To get a loan in, we are basically targeting a player the club do not mind losing, without a transfer fee, for the rest of the season. Most players in that bracket will either be too young too old or in shiiiit form. Im sure Utd would gladly offer us Antony but probably not Amad.

Ange has been calling for the players to get help for a while. He isnt going to say anything but everyone is working their best behind the scenes as he knows that is when he will get fired
i understand it isnt easy to get deals done in january either but we clearly left ourselves short in the summer and also were quick to get in a keeper. so i find it hard to believe we cant strengthen this month. if we dont, i dont see much improving

Oh give over Dev. City have managed to get several deals over the line. We knew we were screwed in early December. Negotiations don't start on the 1st January. They could have been in discussion long before this point. The only reason deals are drawn out for us is because we're always looking to squeeze as much from the deal as possible. If you offer over the odds, you'll get your man and then the selling club can then use those funds to look elsewhere. They don't always need to find a replacement before selling. It's a question of money.
I've got absolutely no doubt that the reason for the delay is that we have two centre halves scheduled to come back at the end of the month and Levy doesn't want to pay out for someone that will ultimately be on the bench, even though we know Romero or VDV will have another spell on the sidelines after they come back. It's inevitable.
We have a thin squad wand an owner with deep pockets and short feckin arms. Stop defending the indefensible. Every journo out there recognises the problem. Even the Spurs mouthpiece Ali Gold is now throwing shade Levy's way. At this point i think you're just digging your heels in. With each passing day without a signing, you're becoming more and more wrong.

indeed, if Levy and the board are intending to keep Ange why are they not helping him by getting players in through door from the 1st of Jan.
We don't need permanent signings either 2-3 experienced loanees will do (whatever the rules allow).
But no they will just sit on their hands until deadline day no doubt.
