Guess it all depends what Rashford wants, put in the effort in training and earn a chance with United under a new manager, move and take a wage cut to resurrect his career in Europe, move to the Saudi league and earn good money or sit on the bench and do f-ck all.
Not sure why anyone would even want Rashford? His career has strung on to the fact that he has had one good season and is a homegrown player.
No team that can afford him, would seriously add him to their squad and say, he has significantly improved them.

He’s had more than one good season.
Not sure any of this is helping move him on though. Ruben would be best advised to just repeat 'Im not talking about Marcus Rashford anymore' over and over again. Eventually they'd get the point.
Telling the world our GK coach is more dedicated to the cause currently is hardly making him more desirable. I really like Ruben but sometimes his honesty is too much. Telling the world we are the worst team in clubs history too probably wasn't the best idea either even if I know sort of what he meant.
Zero minutes again for Ansu Fati… as Barça remain open to his exit in the final week of January.
"Ansu didn’t want to leave so far, but still one to watch in the final days.
Barcelona keep contacts active for Marcus Rashford in case Ansu decides to leave."

In complete agreement. On the latter, he came out and admitted he got it wrong.
I am no hypocrite, I called out ETH on his treatment of Sancho based on the fact I believed we would be in a dire position from a negotiation perspective. Right now, what Amorim is doing is putting us at a disadvantage for Rashford. Loaning out Rashford is pointless and ridiculous. Even if we get the club paying part of his wages you’re looking at saving circa 6-8 million, which is doing nothing for us PSR.

Rashford barely shakes a leg, he’ll be nowhere near our bench.
There's more to this story for sure though. I have seen rumours that he asked to leave as far back as the summer and we told him he wasn't for sale.
Who knows what is true and what isn't but they sure need to find a solution and fast. And Ruben needs to keep quiet now. No good can come from keeping go in now even if he's right in what he's saying. The club can't move him on easily as it is.

Its the modern day version of Harry's nan being able to score that chance.
I can’t imagine whatever Amorim has said is stopping us from moving on Rashford. The reasons why we are struggling to move him on are simple, he’s useless and his wages are too high. Clubs know the risks of bringing in any player, they’re not oblivious to any situation, I’m sure they have ways of knowing what’s going on.
I agree with the view that perhaps Amorim has been a 'little too honest' in his dealings with the press.
It's easy to forget that this role is a big step up for him and he is still learning about the intense speculation that comes with being Utd manager.
I personally don't take much from some of his light-hearted throw-away comments, but he's probably now realised that the media will spin and hype them up so much and make mountains out of molehills etc.
If no-one does take on Rashford, there can't be any doubts that he will be integrated back in the squad - we can't afford to have him sitting them for a few months doing nothing, both in terms of moving him on and the fact that we don't have enough quality to do that.
Amorim has an easy get-out. He can just say that Rashford's training and attitude has improved etc - even if it hasn't really changed that much, there will also be an onus on Rashford to show he still has it - I don't know what issues he has, but ultimately he will want to still play, whether here or elsewhere, and will want to show he still has it.
My general overall view is what a sad situation it has turned into. I still don't believe that Rashford is a bad guy.
There may be a strange twist of fate that Rashford stays for the rest of this season and starts putting in performances, but that may be wishful thinking

He's not useless though. At least when his head is right he isn't anyway. He miles better than those two clowns we have playing upfront when he's fit and firing.
Wages are a massive issue of course and always were going to be.
Amorim is a gift for the press. He seems completely oblivious to the effect his words are going to have. He's either very naive, nuts, or maybe a bit of both.
Did Amorim make it harder to ship Rashford on loan? I doubt it. There's not much in what he said that wasn't already in the public domain, and clubs looking at him surely know far more than we do through their industry sources. I don't think this is Amorim being 'too honest' but quite calculated: I suspect this is above all a message to Rashford about the club's uncompromising stance. There's absolutely no way back at United without a transformation in his attitude to training; that also puts pressure on him to be flexible on salary demands and choice of destination regarding loan moves.
It's driving the price down every time he speaks. We need to remember that the loan out isn't the end goal. Surely the end goal is to sell him and get ALL the wages off the books?
Telling the media he'd rather pick a 62 year old GK coach is just stupid and helping nobody really. This is where effective club leadership needs to step in and have a word with him to tell him just how the English press works.
Really like him as a coach though and I think in time and given the right players we will see a much better United team. Just wish he'd play the game more with the press like Pep and Arteta do.
He miles better than those two clowns we have playing upfront when he's fit and firing.
.................
But he isn't fit and firing, is he. He has not been for a year and a half.
He is giving off bad attitude and that he just does not give a $hit about playing for United and is quite literally rubbing that $hit in the noses of those fans who pay to watch him every week.
Likewise, all those fans who have spent their hard-earned cash on shirts etc. with his name on it.
Oooooh that's some fkken dis to Rashford. Proper mic drop. 😂😂😂😂😂

He spoke like a coach who knows he has the 100% backing of the sporting leadership. I think it's naive to believe that sporting operations will assess target players based on what their coach said in an interview. Everyone in the business knows that Rashford wants out of United and has been frozen out of the team because he's not acting like someone who wants to be there. They can also see how he has performed on the pitch since about April 2023. Amorim's words provide no new information, except that the club is not going to give him an easy way out.

It just isn't good business sense to talk down a player you're trying to sell. So anyway you spin it you're wrong mate.
I have said myself even as Rashford fan that it's probably time to move on now and both parties go their separate ways. The way we are handling it could have been done better though. We have an emotional reaction every time it's Rashford and some fans just want him gone and I get that but we do actually need to get a decent deal for him too.
I think he should go to Dortmund personally. Feel like it's the right kind of club and environment to straighten him out and get him focused on football again.

Rashford has options. He would either have to agree to leave the club with a pay cut if he wanted to leave for his own footballing reasons. Otherwise he will have to go out on loan and United still pay a large chunk of his salary. Or he can choose to stay, and impress the manager in training and fight for his place back in the team.
It's clear that from now until the end of this season we need more options than Hojland and Zirkzee up front if we are to push forward in the Europa Cup, which is well worth trying to win for obvious reason, plus keep the points in the PL ticking over to keep us out if trouble. I cant see a striker been added to the squad this week. I hope Rashford wakes up, pulls his finger out and realise that doing well will benefit both himself, the team and Man United. He has a contract until 2028 so this situation aint going away for him soon.
