Spurs don`t let in just as many, they have let in 58 across all competitions in 41 matches, and that includes 10 against Livepool over two matches, the best team in the country.

I can't figure out who is more miserable? Sizzle or Strike.

Strike is a classic, "we won, but.....<insert as appropriate, it was only....../they're in sshit form/we were lucky/ if they'd scored all their chances...."

Sizzle is just pure "all i care about is winning" except when you win and then its "all I care about is that we're 12th". He'll exaggerate it's 25 years without a trophy but wont care if we win one because we're bottom half.

It's so hard to chose between them.

What you’ll actually find is that when Poch was around, my comments were largely positive, even when we lost games. I was happy with everything at Spurs then but it’s been a gradual slide since then so feck it, I’m justified in being negative. We used to lose home games under Poch but when we did, the opposition goalkeeper usually had an absolutely worldy to stop us winning. There were still reasons to be cheerful because we were building something. I watched the highlights from yesterday and for my money, Ipswich could have had at least 3 goals in the first half. From where I’m looking, nothing has really changed. I’m telling you, someone is gonna absolutely batter us soon. We’re far too open so I’m not even gonna dignify this thread with a response to Sandy’s post about scoring loads. It’s meaningless if you’re not going to even focus on the elephant in the room, our defence. It’s not even about goals conceded, it’s about the sheer amount of big chances we give away. The tactics are feckin flawed. I’m so tired of repeating it. We have absolutely no midfield cover when our full backs bomb on. That’s the issue and it’s Ange’s Major blind spot but you lot can suck his dicccck as long as you want. I don’t care anymore. All I’ll say is… you’ll see.

I didn't add you to the original list because you at least look to assess with your own eyes rather than just blurting out the same phrases.

That said, I disagree about CM cover when out FBs bomb forward.

What was very obvious yesterday was how Bentancur sat deep, how the CBs split and he dropped in, how one FB tended to go forward while the other held back.

It is no longer the case we have both FBs in CM 30 yards from their goal and just the 2 CBs back.

Many teams play like this, even Liverpool. The key is executing the press. Many teams go man to man across the pitch and the key is being tight, winning battles and slowing the opposition down. These elements we have not mastered and that is nothing to do with the tactics which are pretty standard now.

For their chances in the first minutes, 2 players lunge in in CM, in their half, and take themselves out of play. That leads to acres of space. That is where it goes wrong, those decisions, the original positioning, is what causes the 'open defence' not the factvwe have a high line or attacking FBs which almost every top team has.

I agree at times we can be too open,.I just disagree on the causes of it. These are the things I expect us to be working on and improving as the season goes on., and I'd also expect to be a lot better with our 2 main CBs back.

In fact I would.say that our current setup and tactics are now no longer the Ange ball we saw at the start. It is far more of a standard.aggressive pressing team that is willing to go man to man, but that the press is not always being executed effectively.

I think this is being impacted by the slight lack of pace and specialist CBs at the back, meaning we cannot be as aggressive in terms of our line and how we engage with attackers. Just look at.Gray being bullied by Delap. Gray had to stand off a bit more because he wasn't winning battles, understandably. Romero would have been a different prospect, and I was surprised we did not switch/start Danso on that side.

Well see how we progress over this season but at the moment Angeball isn't offering anything much different from.other similar managers whereas at he start it was very different. Comes down to coaching together these details right and players need drilling in these areas to get their decision making right more often than not. We'll see if these improvements come.
