I've thought all season that our best chance of silverware is in the Europa, especially now as the 3rd place teams from the CL don't drop in. However with the AZ game being 8 days away I thought last nights team selection was over cautious.

I've been happier than most on here to accept that injuries have destroyed our domestic campaign but last night really p1ssed me off. Let's be honest the first half display was diabolical and we were incredibly lucky to only be 1 down at half time.

Ange must be very confident of keeping his job because to pick a weakened team against City is an incredibly arrogant thing to do.

Let's hope we feel the benefits next Thurs.

There is no excuse for Spurs not to win next Thu game, and win it well none of that last minute.com stuff

Think Ange actually screwed up yesterday's tactics, and only because City are really poor right now, we got away with a higher score hammering tbh.

Man city are still a better side than us even in their current form this season and with our record against them

we were good second half, probably deserved a draw on reflection and its easy to fantasise we would have done better starting a different team

roll on Thursday

City had one more shot overall, one less shot on target, less possession, five less corners. So where do you get the hammering from? City were better first half, Spurs second half. Draw would have been a fair result.

You have to be optimistic with all the players coming back from injuries. No point in supporting football if you are going to be permanently miserable.

I was wondering what the booing was for. I thought surely not. Disgusting behaviour. Whether you rate him or not, it doesn’t deserve booing when wearing the jersey. Even more insidious considering he hadn’t even kicked a ball yet.

Yeh those so called supporters should hang their heads in shame. I was at WHL when Sanchez was booed on in a game. Pathetic.

i know it must get to the player so the booing is poor

but its clearly booing at the substitution and the clubs transfer of werner rather than an attack on the player himself

I could be wrong but I thought they were just booing at Maddison being taken off rather than Werner coming on.

I thought that initially, but then I saw Werner, and definitely directed at him. It was poor.

They weren't booing the player, they were booing the decision to take off Maddison when he was one of our most dangerous players. That was more about Ange than it was Werner.

Oh, and Sandy, spare me the tears for Werner. You have no leg to stand on here. You gave Poch dog's abuse, no doubt at his face back in the day. Once again the hypocrisy is astounding.

It’s a joke that he names Werner on the bench and leaves Moore out of the squad .

You sound like Ange's spin doctor. You honestly make it sound like being 13th in the league and out of both domestic cups was part of some overall masterplan to conquer Europe, when in actual fact it's nothing of the sort. We're just a bit shiiiit and having so little to play for this early in the season is a product of that. The law of averages suggests that having been terrible across the board this year, it will also catch us out in Europe.

I'm all for a bit of positivity but I have to be honest, your post-match debriefs are just lengthy, nauseating batches of twaddle to allow any failing to face the sunshine. There's positivity and then there's delusion.

And don't tell me the 'Ange In, Levy in' part isn't baiting.

The bigger problem is should Ange manage to pull out a miracle and win the Europa he will still be in charge next season and we will have the exact same issues …. No coaching, no plan, no tactics etc.

How do we all feel about that?

I 100% want us to win it but not really convinced about Ange staying and feel we will back seeing much the same shat next season if he does.

Fridge still waffling on about Poch, to try to point score.

Definitely they booed Werner.

Fridge getting as paranoid and posting nonsense as Sizzle. You both post rubbish. He posts silly one liners and you post war and peace posts nonsense after every win, trying to make a case of how Spurs should have lost 4-0.
