2 wins and 2 clean sheets?
We aren't playing Southampton anymore. Bournemouth will carve out great chances to score against us, just as every other team does, and since they are a top half team they'll probably make them count.
Ange is hopeless and it looks to me like the players don't believe in him anymore. Hopefully this next week will be his last at the club, sadly at the expense of us going out of every competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple question. Do you hope Spurs lose to AZ? Yes or No.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. I want them to win more than I want them to lose. But I will be grateful and glad to be getting rid of the manager.
What I most want is for us to sack Ange now and get in a decent enough interim and see what we can do with the second tie and the rest of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why sack the manager? Makes no sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he’s completely out of his depth and was found out months ago.

Get on it early cause he could (and should) be toast by next Friday morning.

Part of me wants him to stay so he can break the record for most defeats. He surely deserves it?

Good point, let him officially become the worst manager we’ve ever had, so there can be no argument.
It’s what he deserves.

I actually hope we win against AZ in the coming leg just so we can witness a horrendous smashing in the next round.
This season has done a psychological number on Spurs fans this year. We literally ONLY have the Europa to hope on, nothing else to play for. What effing point is a win against Bournemouth gonna achieve for us? To hamper their hopes of top 3?
Wake up, foo! Some lifelong supposed Spurs fan you are. 76 years old and not crying out, "please let me see my team lift another trophy before it's too late!" On the contrary, you seem quite content with waiting for this elusive new build. On your basis, "punching above their weight". Well maybe Spurs were when we went through a period of constant Top-4 finishes. Look at us now. The proof is in the pudding, pal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When have Spurs ever had more than one trophy to play for? I doubt ever in your lifetime. Last time they were involved at the business end of the season in more than one trophy was 1982?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahhh yes, those days. We won the FA Cup in 1981, and again in 1982. Two years on the trot. Then, check this, only 2 years later we won the UEFA Cup at White Heart Lane against Anderlect. What a sensational time that was. There's a reason we all sing "Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur" not only today, but on the closing ceremony of WHL. I think we should all watch that back, and have brought back to the forefront of our minds...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because I firmly don't believe he will win us a trophy. I've seen the performances and the results and they are poor. Keep going the same way...our team starting off on the back foot with the oppo creating great chances and our keeper having to keep us in the game.
The manager is out of his depth. If we could get someone like Redknapp or Hiddink in then I would rather that. Far better managers.

There used to be a football club over there...
Now they're got some Australian guy play his rules of football along with his experience of managing Scottish teams. Let's see how that one works out in the English Premier League.
Cannot speak for Spurs fans but it feels like it must have been a very frustrating season for us you? Before every game I watch with you in it I honestly have no idea how it's gonna turn out? Sometimes you are a great watch and other times you just seem to fold, must wind you up a fair bit?

Oh yes I agree, I've watched a load of Spurs games over the last few seasons and have enjoyed them, this season has been a frustrating time but there has still been some good performances but just no consistency? You've got some very promising young players who are developing nicely, perhaps throw a couple new signings in and others finding form and consistency and you just never know next season?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Consistency is the key. And that starts with the team selection and structure. If we look back at when not just us, but any team go on a winning streak it's usually with the same players, bar a couple of tweaks here and there. Right now we don't know who is gonna play or in what position.
Anyone blaming that on injuries, it's not that. You mentioned young players, well we brought on 2 academy players against Elfsborg recently and both scored. Then everyone is saying to play younger players. Now everyone is saying we need senior players because we have no leaders.
Our squad is probably too big if anything... we have 4 goalkeepers ffs, sometimes even have one on the bench. What's all that about?
Yeh managing to keep, even mostly, the same team on the pitch can be a great bonus, I've always liked having a preferred starting 11 with another 6-7 players who can come in for rotation, injuries loss of form etc, constant rotation of players even due to injuries can really impact results but al that said it is tough to get to a place where it's done week in,week out, if a new manager comes in it will be interesting how they approach your squad and if Ange stays how he moves it forward

It's all about the team. Not individual talent, but the combination of a well formed team that gel together. If one player is playing out of sorts, then maybe he isn't a good fit. At least in his current position.
All this buying random players, throwing them in haphazardly and expecting them to shine is wishful thinking.
Take recent Tel for example, many are slating him due to his recent performance, yet we knew what he was capable of after watching his career highlights to date. And during his first couple of games he showed motivation and scored a lovely volley against Villa in the 4th round FA Cup.
Yet right now no one is there to feed him anything to go on. In fact we have no midfield, all we seem to do is play sideways and play down the wing.
Ah, my head is jumbled right now, the whole thing is a mess. We've become whatcha call it, can't put my name on it, but it's become comical.

I definitely prefer a settled starting XI. But this season has been the worse for injuries in my 65 plus years of following the club. Anything from 10-12 players missing for months is going to disrupt any side. It is now getting better, but still not seeing Romero, Micky on the pitch. Solanke played 30 minutes then got injured again. Kulusevski is now out, and Bentancur has got himself suspended again. Throw in Richarlison nowhere to be seen, and Spurs are still four or five players short of their best team.

Yeah only difference is Brewster and the Eddie Murphy character achieved success with it, got the girl, and walked off into the sunset. Ange is one big failure. He'll get the large compensation fee of course but he's not going to be employable by any big club, other than maybe Celtic again.

Ange is now second favourite for next PL Manager to be sacked @ 9/2
Get on it early cause he could (and should) be toast by next Friday morning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Part of me wants him to stay so he can break the record for most defeats. He surely deserves it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point, let him officially become the worst manager we’ve ever had, so there can be no argument.
It’s what he deserves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Billy Nicholson presided over a team that lost more 1st
division matches in his first season. He finished 18th, He would have been hounded out of the club with supporters like you and Spurtle. The previous manager to Nicholson finished 3rd the season before Nicholson took over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You hounded out the manager who finished 4th and got to a CL final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is why nobody takes this fool seriously.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another supporter who hope Spurs lose. Honestly you couldn't make it up. Spurs own supposedly supporters hoping they get smashed. Have a word with yourself pal.

He deserves a chance to win a trophy, now the injured players are coming back. And where are you going to get a manager with two months of the season left? And don't say Mason, he us never going to be any good.

Now I've started watching other teams just to full in the gaps. La Liga, South American, whatever. I just crave good football.

In fact, rival teams don't even mock us any more with bants such as dusty trophy cabinets and such. They just pity us and send statements of sympathy such as yours.
That's how effed up we've become.

I hope so Sandy. It’s been a dismal season thus far, before and since the injuries. Shame really, as if we weren’t so dreadful in the league, there would be a chance of qualifying for the CL as 5th place is likely to be enough this year.
