Also, why is this board so quiet after a win? You wouldn't know we'd just overturned a first leg defecit and got through tobthe quarter finals. Just an article pining for Poch

There is zero point in replacing him before the summer now. Even if we lose to Frankfurt, there’s only 6 Prem games left after that anyway with faaack all to play for.

We should def replace him in the summer - the performances are by and large diabolical, but the seasons too far gone to be making the change now

posted on 13/3/25

Of course he ain't going anywhere this season, been obviously for some time, probably the new manager isn't available atm, due to contract or commitments else were, thing won't change till the summer

Think people are decompressing a little after what was a tense game - well second half anyway

posted on 13/3/25

I was never on board with him being sacked before the end of the season. It’s pointless but make no mistake, unless he comes home with that trophy, it’s over.

I actually think there's something to be said for making the players play for the same a manager for a couple of seasons. The problem with football is that the players always escape the blame and it's always the managers fault. When things turn bad they know that in the end the manager gets sacked and they continue on their huge wages whether they bother their arsenals or not. So there's a kind of logic to not just sacking the manager every time there's a bad run of form.

To be fair, it's human nature to be more vocal when things go wrong than when they don't.

The problem with Ange is that other than the first 10 games the rest of his time has mostly been a bad run of form.

It’s great we won tonight, but it’s worth remembering we are 13th behind the likes of Palace and could easily drop to 16th this weekend

Yeah it is. A lot of posters fail to see that. Anger is a more driving emotion than joy. It just is.

Sorry but even winning that game there was enough to show that I would be sacking Ange in the morning.

He should have been gone after the Chelsea game before Christmas and every game since then.

He he wins the trophy he can leave on a high because there is now way he should be near a team in the CL.

Little point now though, there is no danger in the league and whoever our managerial target is will be unlikely to join us before the summer anyway.

May as well just play it out now. I def want a change in the summer though, can’t have Ange next season

You've got to admire his ability to pull extra lives from somewhere. He's like a cat that won't die.

Exactly.

Get him gone.

Been saying it for some time now. It was pointless sacking him during an injury crisis and a massive poor patch of form.

Firstly because very few would’ve touched us at that point. And secondly he deserved at least a chance for an upturn in form with many of the players come back.

I said with 14 PL games to go. He wins at least 7 of them and gets to the Europa semi. He should still be in charge next season.

For me it's all about whether he gets us over the line and wins the Europa. Getting to another semi is pretty meaningless. It's all or nothing. Win the Europa and stay, anything but a win and he has to be sacked. I'm not bothered where we finish in the league.

By sacked I mean at the end of the season.

It's an interesting one if he somehow manages to win it. I'd argue it'd be worth giving him till Christmas then to see if he can turn the corner with this squad. Big if tho

We’ve seen what he can do and more importantly what he can’t do. The latter outweighs the former i.e. he is a very limited manager. He has little to no experience at top level football and it shows. What’s worst is that he doesn’t learn from his mistakes, just doubles down with “that’s the way we play mate” and becomes incredibly grouchy and over sensitive. He’s a tad arrogant in all honesty. He can go back to Japanese or Scottish Premier league in the summer. If he wins Europa, he deserves to stay another season, but it will be more of the same. Players injured, mediocre football on repeat.

One of the few sensible posters left on the board. You can see the bigger picture. Of course the injuries have derailed the season. You would have to be the village idiot to not see how the injuries have greatly impacted the season.

Results will greatly improve now the injuries are subsiding. Get Kulu and Richarlison back, and Spurs can still win a trophy this season.

Looking forward to a fully fit squad under Ange next season.

Did you use the same criteria for previous managers? That they had to win a European trophy or get the sack? I very much doubt it.
