Not a traitor, just doing what he wants to do,bit like everyone else.
I doubt he’s going for the signing on fee, the most likely is that he just wants to play for Real Madrid, like most players on the planet. They’ve likely told him the only way they’ll sign him is if he leaves on a free.
Disappointing that he’s leaving in this way, but poor form creating an attention seeking assassination article already.

Perhaps but I wonder how many of us would do that? He could have done that but also lost out on a fair amount of cash with the signing on fee amount, I do get fans being annoyed, no complaints but I also wonder what the majority of us would do
Mamba talking about loyalty when he doesn’t even support his local club
Playing for your local club having come through the academy, I think your expectation should be a big wage and a long career, not running down your contract and a signing on fee at another club. That's something you expect from some South American player, not a local lad. If your gonna leave then do your best for the club before you go and make sure the club get their compensation.

Stop trying to derail the thread and looking for arguments with your drug fuelled outbursts.
Why is he a 'traitor'? He's fulfilled his contract and will likely leave having won 2 league titles and a champions league.
He's absolutely entitled to want to play in a different league and experience a different lifestyle. Is he supposed to stay at Liverpool until the fans decide they want rid?
Fans are the least loyal people in football. It blows my mind they demand people make entire life decisions in order to make them happy.
He's done absolutely nothing wrong.

Not Liverpool fans with a local lad. Would have been backed at Liverpool all his career. Moot point.

It’s a very good point tbf.
He’s won everything at Liverpool, and while it irks that he’s gone on a free, I can’t really blame him. He’ll be 30 in a few years and has an excellent chance of winning multiple CLs for a team that could quite easily go down as one of the greatest in history.
Best of luck Trent and thanks for the memories.
It's not he going to Utd or Everton lol.
Going abroad for a new challenge shows the lad has something about him. Good on him.
He has fullfilled his contractual duties and won the lot.
Have they started burning his shirt yet?
He's won absolutely everything with Liverpool, surely you can see that maybe he wants a new challenge plus playing for Real Madrid is a massive pull.
The problem seems to be him leaving on a free but Real did offer 20Mil in January which the board should have took.
IF Saka won everything with Arsenal and then left on a free i would be cool with that as he gave everything for the shirt and helped win the big trophies.

We're all different. If it were me, leaving the club ive loved all my life (at a time when they are competitive for the biggest prizes on offer) wouldnt even enter my mind.
But everyone is different. Some people are carras/nevilles, some are beckham/trents.
Leaving on a free is a sour point for me. Hes left his boyhood club knowing his value wouldve been upwards of 60m. That, alongside the farce in January with the low offer stuff and this coming out now when it couldve waited another month when the league was officially won, will tarnish his legacy. Whether thats right or wrong is irrelevant, thats just what will happen.

Oh no I get that mate but perhaps everyone isn't the same way? He's made a choice for him and it will impact his future for good or bad (mostly good with that cash) but it's all on him, he could argue that he gave his all for Liverpool every minute of the previous contracts but I also understand it's entirely down to individuals what they feel

He was under contract in January when Madrid offered £20m for him. Liverpool turned it down.
It's not as if this is something which has happened out of the blue this morning. It's long been expected he'd be moving to Madrid.
Liverpool will have been aware of the situation. I highly doubt people at the club will have been completely oblivious. He doesn't owe the club anything. He's provided 20+ years of service to Liverpool, after it cost the club nothing to sign him.
20 years of loyalty he's shown to Liverpool. Maybe give him a bit of respect rather than call him a traitor.
Liverpool are competitive currently but he must know that it's a team well one the down. Allison, Van Dijk, Robertson and Salah close to being finished, even if they all stay.
Real Madrid have lots of exciting talent and pulling power.
Him choosing to leave is a reflection of where Liverpool are at and you will realise this retrospectively in the coming couple of years.
