He will also serve as a lesson to the club. That goal celebration when he knew he was in bed with Madrid all along, making it look like a tough decision, and fans making it easy for players to do this by lumping on the club.
Loyalty my left ass cheek.

Dno why so bitter to Trent, served us well gl to him. If anyones to blame its the club allowing key players to enter their last year of contracts, if you want money for a player time to act is prob 18-24 months left on contract not 6 months when theyre free to sign for other clubs lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know the club allowed it? Reports suggest he was talking to Madrid for a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what? Still doesn’t take away the fact he made history with Liverpool as a Liverpool fan. He’s done all he can for Liverpool and will end up leaving with two PL and a CL medal. That’s more successful than anyone else this century for Liverpool. All whilst coming as an academy player.

He hasn't done all he can for Liverpool. There's always next season. Being success is what you want to achieve, not an excuse for leaving and picking up the transfer fee instead of the club that gave you everything. He was a kid when Klopp played him and always stuck by his side.
These days fans are convinced their clubs owe the players, when it's the players that owe the clubs.

Doesnt matter if they did or not, or if Trent was or not. The club can either decide to pressure the player to leave for a fee or sign a new contract or keep them until they fulfil the length of their contract. FSG clearly chose with all 3 to do the latter, playing all 3 as first teamers and key players until the very end.

How do you know FSG didn't try to get him to sign a new contract. You talk as if it's the club's decision, which is a ridiculous starts point IMO.
He was talking to Madrid and wanted Madrid. When will you accept it never mattered what the club did?
Hard pill to swallow for some fans but he thinks he's better than us, when he's not even 3rd choice for England.
He has done his bit to get us where we are. He has a full set of medals with us. Let him go and wish him well. take the fee and pay VVD and Mo
He will still be a memorable player but he is forfeiting the legend status for his attacking prowess.
Personally, i am tired of the defensive woe we have on his side against the better teams each year. I'm tired of the question of his best position or how to accommodate his defensive lapses to allow his prowess to shine.
Bradley will give us a nice consistency in rb and different attacking thrust each game. Do we recruit another player of passing ability to replace him? or is VVD, Mac allister etc enough?
ill be glad when we know either way on all 3 players. Just fed up of hearing about it.
my concern is why are we allowing this to happen?
who is next to run it down? ibou?
FSG have done a lot of positives for us. especially making us self sufficient financially. just frustrating with their rules on the over 30s
How many players have FSG let go that have gone on to greater things?
All those FSG has let go, Liverpool was their best years and we've heard next to nothing since they left.
FSG know when to let go, they've got it right time and again. Coutinho, Wij, Keita, Mane, Firmino etc not offered new contracts or forced to leave and haven't been seen or heard from since.
I expect that to continue.
